Linlithgow Rose Football Club are a football in Scotland, Scottish football club based in Linlithgow, West Lothian. The team plays in the , which is the fifth tier of Scottish football, having won the 2022–23 East of Scotland Football League Premier Division. With playing colours of maroon and white, Linlithgow Rose have won the Scottish Junior Cup four times, in 1965, 2002, 2007 and 2010. Linlithgow also finished as runners-up in 1974, 2003 and 2013. History Although officially formed in 1889, there are no newspaper reports of a club by this name until 1898 giving rise to the notion that the original date could either be speculation or is a misprinted date that has been subsequently used as fact. Prestonfield is a association football, football stadium in the royal burgh of Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland. It is the home stadium of Linlithgow Rose F.C., Linlithgow Rose of the East of Scotland Football League. The stadium was opened in 1949 and currently consists of a covered and seated stand opposite a covered enclosure with the rest of the ground being concrete terracing. Largs () is a town on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire, Scotland, about from Glasgow. The original name means "the slopes" (''An Leargaidh'') in Scottish Gaelic. A popular seaside resort with a pier, the town markets itself on its historic links with the Vikings and an annual festival is held each year in early September. In 1263 it was the site of the Battle of Largs between the Norwegian and the Scottish armies. The National Mòd has also been held here in the past. Kelty (Scottish Gaelic: Cailtidh) is a former coal mining village located in Fife, Scotland. Lying in the heart of the old mining heartlands of Fife, it is situated on the Fife/ Kinross-shire boundary and has a population of around 6,000 residents. This was nearer to 9,000 when the coal mining industry was still operational in late 1970s and early 1980s. Origins The origin of the name of the village is somewhat obscure. It could come from the Scottish Gaelic ''coillte'' or ''coilltean'' meaning 'wood' or 'woodland' or it could come from the Gaelic ''cailtidh'', a reduced form of the early Gaelic ''*caleto-dubron'', meaning 'hard water'. Tayport, also known as Ferry-Port-on-Craig, is a town in Fife, Scotland. It lies on the Firth of Tay opposite Broughty Ferry, a suburb of Dundee. The two were linked by a ferry service until 1939. Brown Ferguson (born 4 June 1981 in Falkirk) is a Scottish football player and coach. He is currently the assistant manager of Stenhousemuir. He also previously had manager spells at Stenhousemuir and Linlithgow Rose. As a player, he played for East Stirlingshire, Alloa Athletic, Hamilton Academical, Partick Thistle and then finally at Stenhousemuir. His coaching career began with Stenhousemuir, and he managed the club for over three years previously. Playing career Ferguson started his career with East Stirlingshire in 1998. In the summer of 2002, Ferguson moved to Alloa Athletic (two spells), where he made a great start to his Alloa career only to break his leg and face a long time on the sidelines. Stenhousemuir (; ) is a town in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies within the Falkirk council area of Scotland. The town is north-northwest of Falkirk and directly adjoins to Larbert in the west, where the nearest rail access is located. The villages of Carron and Carronshore adjoin Stenhousemuir to the east but to a lesser extent. Historically, Stenhousemuir lies with the historic county of Stirlingshire. The East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) is a senior association football, football league based in the east and south-east of Scotland. The league sits at levels 6–9 on the Scottish football league system, acting as a feeder to the Lowland Football League. Todd Lumsden (born 6 February 1978 in Consett) is an English football player and manager. Career Lumsden mostly played in the lower leagues of Scottish football, although he did play for Hamilton Academical at First Division level. He was appointed player/manager of Albion Rovers in May 2012, after Paul Martin resigned for health reasons. Lumsden left Albion Rovers after the 2012–13 season, as the club were relegated from the Second Division. He was succeeded by his assistant James Ward. On 1 July 2014 Lumsden became assistant manager to Allan Moore at Arbroath He became interim manager after Moore left the club in April 2015 and was appointed manager on a two-year deal on 30 April 2015.
