Leap (computer Worm)
The Oompa-Loompa malware, also called OSX/Oomp-A or Leap.A, is an application-infecting, LAN-spreading computer worm, worm for Mac OS X, discovered by the Apple Inc., Apple security firm Intego on February 14, 2006. Leap cannot spread over the Internet, and can only spread over a local area network reachable using the Bonjour (software), Bonjour protocol. The executable is disguised with the standard icon of an image file, and claims to show a preview of Apple's next OS. Once it is run, the worm will attempt to infect the system. For non-"admin" users, it will prompt for the computer's administrator password in ...

Randolph's Leap
Randolph's Leap (also known as the Brig of Rannoch) is an SSSI and area of countryside in Moray, Scotland. The area surrounds the River Findhorn and is named after the point at the river where the sheer rock banks are closest. According to legend, Randolph's Leap was the site of a battle in the 1300s in which Thomas Randolph, later Earl of Moray, was pursuing a Comyn who leaped to the other side and escaped back to his castle. The Comyn castle fell, and the lands were granted by King Robert to Randolph. The name gradually changed from Comyn's Leap to Randolph's Leap. The nearest settlement is Logie House, a steading from where walks along the side of the river can be taken. This part of the Findhorn is renowned for its dramatic rocks, cliffs and waterfalls, and peaceful surrounding pine forest. Randolph's Leap is also an important wildlife area, with lesser black-backed gulls, woodpeckers and red squirrels. References See also *River Findhorn The River Findhorn ...

LEAPS (finance)
In finance, Long-term Equity AnticiPation Securities (LEAPS) are derivatives that track the price of an underlying financial instrument (stocks or indices). They are option contracts with a much longer time to expiry than standard options. According to the Options Industry Council, the educational arm of the Options Clearing Corporation, LEAPS are available on stocks and indexes that have an average daily trading volume of at least 1000 contracts. As with standard options, LEAPS are available in two forms, calls and puts. Options were originally created with expiry cycles of 3, 6, and 9 months, with no option term lasting more than a year. Options of this form, for such terms, still constitute the vast majority of options activity. LEAPS were created relatively recently and typically extend for terms of 2 years out. Equity LEAPS typically expire in January. For example, if today were December 2020, one could buy a Microsoft option that would expire in January of 2021, 2022, or ...

Leap Manifesto
The Leap Manifesto is a Canadian political manifesto that was issued by a coalition of environmentalists, Indigenous, labour, and faith leaders, authors, and artists in September 2015 in the context of that year's Canadian federal election campaign. The document proposes broad changes to Canadian society and economics to respond to climate change through a policy framework that also addresses issues of wealth and income inequality, racism, and colonialism. The Leap Manifesto launched with the backing of approximately 100 prominent signatories and attracted more than 10,000 signatures the day of its release. Polling indicated that a majority of supporters of most major political parties supported the principles of the manifesto. However, the manifesto was largely downplayed by those parties, although it did cause significant turmoil within the New Democratic Party when it was adopted for riding-level debate in 2016. The organizers behind the manifesto launched an organization ...

Law Enforcement Availability Pay
Overtime is the amount of time someone works beyond normal working hours. The term is also used for the pay received for this time. Normal hours may be determined in several ways: *by custom (what is considered healthy or reasonable by society), *by practices of a given trade or profession, *by legislation, *by agreement between employers and workers or their representatives. Most national countries have overtime labour laws designed to dissuade or prevent employers from forcing their employees to work excessively long hours (such as the situation in the textile mills in the 1920s). These laws may take into account other considerations than humanitarian concerns, such as preserving the health of workers so that they may continue to be productive, or increasing the overall level of employment in the economy. One common approach to regulating overtime is to require employers to pay workers at a higher hourly rate for overtime work. Companies may choose to pay workers higher overti ...
