Buena Vista (brand)
Buena Vista ( Spanish for ''"good view"'') is a brand name that has historically been used for divisions, subsidiaries, and assets of The Walt Disney Company, whose primary studios, the Walt Disney Studios, are located on South Buena Vista Street in Burbank, California. The studio lot is also home to the company's corporate headquarters, the Team Disney Burbank building. The logos for the various Buena Vista brands featured the "Buena Vista" wordmark superimposed over the traditional Disney castle logo to signal the affiliation between Buena Vista and Disney. History The brand was originally used for the Buena Vista Film Distribution Company, which had been established by Walt and Roy O. Disney to distribute '' The Living Desert'' (1953) after RKO Radio Pictures, Disney's longtime distributor, refused to. The company would go on to distribute all of Disney's future films, though some were still distributed by RKO until 1956 because of preexisting contracts. Disney semi-reti ...

Area Codes 407 And 689
Area codes 407 and 689 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the city of Orlando and surrounding areas in the U.S. state of Florida. The numbering plan area (NPA) includes Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties, as well as small portions of Volusia and Lake counties. Area code 407 was created in 1988 in a split of area code 305, Florida's original area code of 1947. When assigned, 407 included not only most of Central Florida, but also the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. In 1996, Palm Beach, Martin, Indian River, and St. Lucie counties were split from the number plan area and received area code 561. The latter area code has since been split to form area code 772. In October 2000, Brevard County was split off with area code 321. At the same time, 321 was also overlaid on Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. The small portion of Volusia County that was located in 407 (the Deltona area) continued to use only 407. In 2003, it was ...

Disney was founded on October 16, 1923, as an animation studio, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Oliver Disney as Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio; it later operated under the names Walt Disney Studio and Walt Disney Productions before adopting its current name in 1986. In 1928, Disney established itself as a leader in the animation industry with the short film ''Steamboat Willie.'' The film used synchronized sound to become the first post-produced sound cartoon, and popularized Mickey Mouse, who became Disney's mascot and corporate icon. After becoming a success by the early 1940s, Disney diversified into live-action films, television, and theme parks in the 1950s. Reedy Creek Improvement Act
The Reedy Creek Improvement Act, otherwise known as House Bill No. 486, was a law enacted in the U.S. state of Florida in 1967 establishing the area surrounding the Walt Disney World Resort (the Reedy Creek Improvement District) as its own county governmental authority, which granted it the same authority and responsibilities as a county government. The bill, which was sought by and pushed for by Disney, was signed into law by Florida Governor Claude R. Kirk, Jr. on May 12, 1967, allowing Disney to build the infrastructure for the second park. Ground breaking followed on May 30. In Roy O. Disney's last act as the company's CEO in 1968, he officially named the second park Walt Disney World. The status of the law has been challenged since its passage. In 1968, the Supreme Court of Florida ruled that the law did not violate any provision of the Constitution of Florida. Among the proposals that Disney lobbied to get the law passed was Walt Disney's vision of a real planned cit ...
