Korean Tour
The Korean Tour is a men's professional golf tour run by the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) of South Korea. In 2011, it had total prize money of about United States dollar, US$14 million. Professional golf in Korea dates back to the mid 20th century. The Korean Professional Golf Championship and the Korea Open (golf), Korean Open were launched in 1958 and the KPGA was founded in 1963. Various other tournaments were created over the following decades. The KPGA's tours serve as feeders for richer tours around the world. Substantial numbers of Korean golfers have played on the Asian Tour and the Japan Golf Tour, and a few have made it onto the PGA Tour or the European Tour. Notable examples include Yang Yong-eun, who was the first Korean to win a 2009 PGA Championship, men's major golf championship, and K. J. Kim Tae-hoon (golfer)
Kim Tae-hoon (; born 15 September 1985) is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the Korean Tour. He has won four times on the tour, including the 2020 Genesis Championship. Professional career Kim turned professional in 2005 and made his debut on the Korean Tour in 2007. However, he had little success until 2013 when he won the Bosung CC Classic and had 8 top-10 finishes in the 11 events he played in. He finished third in the points-based Order of Merit and fourth in the prize money list. He had less success in 2014 but was twice runner-up, in the Happiness Songhak Construction Open and the KJ Choi Invitational, and finished 16th in the money list. Kim got his second win in the 2015 Caido Golf LIS Tour Championship, the final event of the season. Tom Kim
Kim Joo-hyung (; born 21 June 2002), commonly known as Tom Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer. He has won three times on the PGA Tour, and twice on both the Asian Tour and the Korean Tour. Early life and amateur career Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, and is the son of a professional golfer, Kim Chang-ik, who played on the Buy.com Tour before becoming a teaching professional. As a result, Kim was based in Australia, the Philippines and later Thailand for a number of years. 2023 Korean Tour
The 2023 Korean Tour was the 46th season on the Korean Tour, the main professional golf tour in South Korea since it was formed in 1978. European Tour strategic alliance extension Following the strategic alliance partnership signed with the European Tour in December 2022, the season marked the inaugural edition of the Korea Championship, the first time the Korean Tour had co-sanctioned an event with the European Tour since 2013. Following the conclusion of the event, a new extension to the strategic alliance was announced in May by the European Tour. Jang Yu-bin
Jang Yu-bin (; born 11 June 2002) is a South Korean professional golfer. He won the Korean Tour Order of Merit in 2024, and was a gold medalist in the team event at the 2022 Asian Games. Early life and family Jang was born in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He took up golf at an early age, supported by his grandmother, a former tennis player. He went to the Korea National Sport University. Amateur career Jang had a successful amateur career, winning several ranking tournaments, including the 2022 World University Golf Championship.
