Kandinsky Prize
The Kandinsky Prize, named after Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky is an award sponsored by the Deutsche Bank AG and the Art Chronika Culture Foundation. It was organized in hopes of developing Russian contemporary art, and to reinforce the status of Russian art within the world. In total, 55,000 euros are awarded to the artists. It was first given out on 4 December 2007, hosted at the Winzavod Contemporary Art Center in Moscow. Four awards were given. The Young Artist Category is awarded to an artist under 30 and they receive a three months stay in Villa Romana. New Media Project of the year is awarded 10,000 euros. Artist of the Year is awarded 40,000 euros. Audience's Prize is awarded 5,000 euros. The award has been evolving over the years. Dmitri Vrubel
Dmitri Vladimirovich Vrubel (; 14 July 1960 – 13 August 2022) was a Russian painter. He was best known for his East Side Gallery-painting '' My God, Help Me to Survive This Deadly Love'', depicting the kissing communist leaders Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker. Vrubel was born in Moscow, Soviet Union. His surname is a russification of the common Polish surname Wróbel. Early life He was the only child of two engineers. He started painting at 15 and studied at the graphic art department of the Moscow State V.I. Lenin Pedagogical Institute. Vita Buivid (born Victoria Buivid; born 1962) is a contemporary artist and Photography, photographer living in Amsterdam. Buivid graduated from the Dutch Art Institute (ArtEZ University of Arts), and was a resident at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in 2023 Buivid, started working with animation and painting, after graduation from the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, Dnepropetrovsk State University in 1988. Sergey Chilikov () (born 1953 in Kilemary, Mari ASSR; died June 21, 2020, Yoshkar-Ola, Republic of Mari El) was a Russian photographer. Chilikov graduated from the philosophical faculty with a Ph.D. Until 1991, he had been teaching in the universities of Yoshkar-Ola. In 1993, he published his first book on analytical philosophy titled “Artseg. The Owner of a Thing or Ontology of Subjectiveness”. Aidan Salahova (; born March 25, 1964) is a Soviet and Russian artist of Azerbaijani descent, gallerist and public person. In 1992 she founded the Aidan Gallery in Moscow. George Pusenkoff (; born 1953) is a Russian and German painter, installation artist and photographer. He is a representative of postmodernism. Biography George Pusenkoff studied computer science from 1971 to 1976 at the National Research University of Electronic Technology in Moscow. From 1977 to 1983 he studied art (Graphics and Painting) at the then Moscow Polygraphic Institute, today the Moscow State University of Printing Arts.
