Jianyang, Sichuan
Jianyang () is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Chengdu, in Sichuan Province, Southwest China. Situated only from Chengdu, Jianyang is administratively under the jurisdiction of Chengdu, changed from being a prefecture-level city of Ziyang since May 2016. The preparation work for changing it to "Jianyang District" is already started as of August 2019. The urban center is located on the banks of the Tuo River. History Jianyang has a recorded history dating back over two thousand years. It was part of the state of Shu until the third century BC and was incorporated into the Qin Empire following the unification of China under Qin Shihuang. In the Yuan dynasty, it was named Jianzhou (簡州); its current name was adopted in 1913 during the Republic of China. Chengdu Tianfu International Airport
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (; also known as Tianfu Airport) is one of two international airports serving Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in Southwestern China. It was planned in 2013 and opened in 2021 as Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport was exceeding its designed maximum passenger capacity for years. The airport is located at Lujia Town of Jianyang, Sichuan, Jianyang, southeast of downtown Chengdu. The construction of this airport began in May 2016, and the airport opened in June 2021. Chengdu–Chongqing Intercity Railway
The Chengdu–Chongqing intercity railway () is a long high-speed railway that connects the cities of Chengdu (Sichuan) and Chongqing in southwestern China, with a maximum speed of . The route passes through most of the same cities that the older Chengdu–Chongqing Railway does, but is significantly shorter due to the greater use of elevated sections and tunnels.
