Inspiration Trust
Inspiration Trust is a multi-academy trust of academies and free schools in East Anglia, England. The trust was founded by Theodore Agnew, Baron Agnew of Oulton as the East Norfolk Academy Trust in 2012, changing its name to the Inspiration Trust in 2013. Although technically a limited company, as a multi-academy trust the company is an exempt charity, principally regulated by the Department for Education. All the academies on the roster are in Norfolk, except East Point Academy, which is located in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Hethersett Academy
Hethersett Academy, previously known as Hethersett High School and Science College, is a coeducational secondary school, part of the Inspiration Trust, located in the village of Hethersett in the English county of Norfolk. It has around 1,200 pupils aged 11–16. Description When it visited in 2016, Ofsted found that Hethersett Academy was an 'Outstanding' 11-16 secondary school, which was a remarkable achievement as its predecessor school, Hethersett High School and Science College, had been judged inadequate following an inspection in March 2013, requiring it to become an academy. The academy opened in November 2013 under the sponsorship of the Inspiration Trust and the principal, Gareth Stevens, was installed. COVID-19
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. In January 2020, the disease spread worldwide, resulting in the COVID-19 pandemic. Clive Lewis (politician)
Clive Anthony Lewis (born 11 September 1971) is a British Labour politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Norwich South since 2015. Lewis was a candidate for Leader of the Labour Party in the 2020 leadership election. He is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group parliamentary caucus. He previously served as vice-president of the National Union of Students, worked as a TV reporter for BBC News and served as an infantry officer with the Army Reserve. Lewis served a three-month tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2009. Lewis became shadow defence secretary in June 2016, and shadow business secretary in October 2016. Dame Rachel Mary de Souza ''(née'' Kenny; born 1968, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire) is the Children's Commissioner for England. She is a British educationalist and social reformer, a former headteacher and founding chief executive of the Inspiration Trust. She was appointed DBE in the 2014 New Year Honours "for services to education". Early life Born in Scunthorpe in 1968, Rachel Kenny is the only female of four siblings. Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form
Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form is a specialist maths and science sixth form with free school status located in Norwich, owned by the Inspiration Trust. It has the capacity for 480 students aged 16–19. It specialises in mathematics and science. History Prior to becoming a Sixth Form College the building functioned as a fire station serving the central Norwich area until August 2011 when it closed down. Two years later the Sixth Form was created within the empty building with various additions being made to the existing structure. Wayland Academy (formerly Wayland Community High School) is a small mixed secondary school located in Watton in the English county of Norfolk. It is part of the Inspiration Trust, having been part of the Transforming Education in Norfolk Trust group of schools until January 2020. The Thetford Academy is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form (known as Thomas Paine Sixth Form) with academy status located in Thetford, Norfolk, England. Jane Austen College is a secondary free school located in Norwich, owned by the Inspiration Trust, that opened in September 2014. History Plans for the school were announced in March 2013 with the intention to locate in central Norwich. Jane Austen College was approved by the Department for Education, on 22 May 2013, to open in September 2014. Academic organisation The school has an admission number of 180 students per year between Years 7 and 11, and a smaller sixth form. There is an extended school day, with optional sessions running until 5.30pm three days a week for students to complete homework on site. Within the school day students spend dedicated time on an ‘elective’ until year 11, activity of their choice such as choir, football, Dungeons and Dragons, dancing or STEM studies.
