Ido's Football Club
Ido's Football Club, usually known as IFC, is a Dutch association football club from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. Its grounds are at Sportpark Schildman. History First years Ido's Football Club was established on 20 October 1927, 2 years before its Saturday football rival ASWH, and initially played football only on Sundays. The establishment was a merger of street soccerclubs, HIVV, OVV and SDW. Its members were for the most part left-oriented blue collar workers. IFC's first ground was Den Dommes in Oostendam, later covered by a bridge and road over the Noord River. 2010s Since 2014 and occasionally before IFC also has a team for Saturday soccer. In 2016–2017 this team plays in the Derde Klasse of district South-I. IFC further features women teams, youth teams, and senior teams. It engaged in women soccer already in the 1970s. Sportpark Schildman
Sportpark Schildman is a municipal park and sports complex in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands. It contains the main grounds, training fields, and facilities for: * ASWH – association football club * Ido's Football Club, IFC – association football club * Boulistica – Boules club with fields next to Hiaten. This club uses Hiaten's facilities. * DVS '69 – korfball club * VV Volido – volleyball and beach volleyball club * Hiaten – tennis club * De Luchtsbode – carrier pigeons club * Sagittarius – shooting sports club History In 1969–1970, Schildman was expanded eastwards to also include tennis and hockey facilities. In the mid-1970s it was expanded southward to include more training fields. Ambachtse Mixed Hockey Club 1965 (AMHC '65) moved to Schildman in 1968 and merged in 1988 into a field hockey club from Zwijndrecht. Robert Verbeek
Robert Verbeek (born 26 July 1961) is a Dutch football manager and former player who coaches RV & AV Sparta. Verbeek is the younger brother of former Oman manager Pim Verbeek. As a player, he featured for Sparta Rotterdam, where he retired at the age of 21. Coaching career Verbeek played as a left-back for Sparta Rotterdam. Following his retirement he started his coaching career as a youth coach at Sparta Rotterdam and also worked for amateur teams NRC Ommoord (1985–1988), Neptunus and Unitas. In 1988, he was appointed by PSV Eindhoven, where he worked as a coach for a total period of eight years. In this period he assisted coaches like Guus Hiddink and Sir Bobby Robson. He worked with famous players like Romario and Ronaldo, who became famous after their spell with PSV. Delpher
Delpher is a website providing full-text Dutch-language digitized historical newspapers, books, journals and copy sheets for radio news broadcasts. The material is provided by libraries, museums and other heritage institutions and is developed and managed by the Royal Library of the Netherlands. ''Het Vrije Volk'' () was a Dutch social-democratic daily newspaper that existed between 1945 and 1991. In 1991, it merged with the '' Rotterdams Nieuwsblad'', under the new title '' Rotterdams Dagblad'', which later merged with the '' Algemeen Dagblad''. The last issue of ''Het Vrije Volk'' was published on 30 March 1991. Het Volk ''Het Volk'' was a socialist newspaper from the Netherlands. Ab Van Oorschot
Ab van Oorschot (7 December 1952) is a retired professional footballer for FC Dordrecht and SC Telstar. His position was midfielder. He also coached football and worked as a plumber. Playing career After playing in a Feyenoord youth team, Van Oorschot played in the FC Dordrecht first squad from 1970 until 1977. On 5 December 1971, he scored the finishing touch in the 2–0 defeat of PEC Zwolle in the sixth round of the Eerste Divisie. Van Oorschot played for SC Telstar from 1977 to 1981. At Telstar, he was the captain of the team. He returned to FC Dordrecht from 1981 to 1983, and continued his player career at Fluks Dordrecht until 1986. Winston Faerber
Winston Faerber (born 27 March 1971) is a Dutch former professional footballer, born in Suriname. Club career Faerber began his career at ADO Den Haag. He made his professional debut for the club at the age of 23 when he played in a 3–1 defeat against TOP Oss. He established himself in the first team and played over 150 games for the club over the next 5 years. In 1999, Faerber left Den Haag on a free transfer to play for Cardiff City, making his debut in a 1–1 draw with Millwall. Faerber was a regular for the side, playing in over 30 league games as well as making appearances in both the FA Cup and League Cup. His only goal for the club came in his second league appearance in a 3–2 win over Oxford United. Despite this Faerber struggled to settle at the club and with his family homesick he was released from his contract at the club and returned to the Netherlands to sign for FC Den Bosch where he finished his professional career before moving into amateur football.
