Freshwater Pro
The Surf Ranch Pro is a professional surfing competition, currently one of the events of the World Surf League. The competition is held annually at Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California. Held for the first time in 2018, it was the first World Surf League event to be staged in an artificial wave pool A wave pool is a swimming pool in which there are artificially generated, large waves, similar to those of the ocean. Surfing
Surfing is a surface water sport in which an individual, a surfer (or two in tandem surfing), uses a board to ride on the forward section, or face, of a moving wave of water, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Waves suitable for surfing are primarily found on ocean shores, but can also be found as standing waves in the open ocean, in lakes, in rivers in the form of a tidal bore, or wave pools. Surfing includes all forms of wave-riding using a board, regardless of the stance. There are several types of boards. The Moche of Peru would often surf on reed craft, while the native peoples of the Pacific surfed waves on alaia, paipo, and other such watercraft. Freshwater Pro 2019
The Freshwater Pro 2019 was the eighth event of the Men's Championship Tour in the 2019 World Surf League. It took place from 19 to 21 September at the Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California, and was contested by 36 surfers. In the final, Brazil's Gabriel Medina Gabriel Medina Pinto Ferreira (born 22 December 1993) is a Brazilian professional surfer. He won the 2014, 2018 and 2021 WSL World Championships.
