FIVB Volleyball Men's Challenger Cup
The FIVB Men's Volleyball Challenger Cup was an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The Challenger Cup served as a qualifying tournament for the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), with the winner earning the right to participate in the following year's VNL. A corresponding tournament for women's national teams was the FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup. History The Challenger Cup was first announced in October 2017 (alongside the announcement of the Nations League) as a joint project between the FIVB, the IMG and 21 national federations. The inaugural tournament was played between 20 and 24 June 2018 in Matosinhos, Portugal. The Portugal team won the tournament, defeating Czech Republic counterpart in the final and qualified for the 2019 Nations League. 2018 FIVB Men's Volleyball Challenger Cup
The 2018 FIVB Men's Volleyball Challenger Cup was the inaugural edition of the FIVB Men's Volleyball Challenger Cup, a new annual men's international volleyball tournament contested by six national teams that acts as a qualifier for the FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League. The tournament was held in Matosinhos, Portugal from 20 to 24 June 2018. Portugal won the title, defeating Czech Republic in the final, and earned the right to participate in the 2019 Nations League replacing South Korea, the last placed challenger team after the 2018 edition. Estonia defeated Cuba in the 3rd place match. Qualification A total of 6 teams qualified for the tournament. 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League
The 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League was the third edition of the FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League, an annual men's international volleyball tournament. The 2021 version of VNL was scheduled to start earlier than the previous edition due to the 2020 Summer Olympics in July. The competition was held between May and June 2021, and the final round took place in Rimini Fiera, Rimini, Italy. Brazil claimed their first VNL title after beating Poland in four sets. France swept Slovenia in three sets and grabbed the bronze medal. Both Wallace de Souza from Brazil and Bartosz Kurek from Poland named as MVPs of the tournament. The 2018 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League was the inaugural edition of the FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League, a new annual international men's volleyball tournament contested by 16 national teams that replaced the former World League in the international calendar. The competition was held between May and July 2018, and the final round took place in the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Villeneuve-d'Ascq, Lille metropolitan area, France. The 2023 FIVB Men's Volleyball Challenger Cup was the fourth edition of the FIVB Men's Volleyball Challenger Cup, an annual men's international volleyball tournament contested by eight national teams that acts as a qualifier for the FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League.
