F-type Asteroid
F-type asteroids are a relatively uncommon type of carbonaceous asteroid, falling into the wider C-type asteroid#C-group asteroids, C-group. Characteristics F-type asteroids have spectra generally similar to those of the B-type asteroid, B-type asteroids, but lack the "water" absorption feature around 3 μm indicative of hydrated minerals, and differ in the low wavelength part of the ultraviolet spectrum below 0.4 μm. The F-type and B-type asteroids are not distinguishable with the criteria used in the asteroid spectral types#SMASS classification, SMASS classification, so in that scheme are grouped together under the B-type asteroid, B-type. AC power plugs and sockets connect devices to mains electricity to supply them with electrical power. A plug is the connector attached to an electrically operated device, often via a cable. A socket (also known as a receptacle or outlet) is fixed in place, often on the internal walls of buildings, and is connected to an Alternating current, AC electrical circuit. Deronda Type F
The Deronda Type F is an extreme performance, road going, track day car. It has been designed and developed by professional motorsport engineers and utilises racing car technology. When former airline executive, Andy Round, wanted to create the ultimate performance car he contracted Racing Designs Ltd, of Buckingham, and sister company Fabrication Techniques Ltd to design and build the Deronda Type F to meet his exacting specification. Design features Racing Designs boss, Mark Taylor, came up with an exoskeleton car featuring a space frame chassis with wishbone suspension at each corner and push-rod operated coil-over dampers. Audi's turbocharged 1800cc 4-cylinder engine is mounted longitudinally behind the cockpit to achieve the ultimate in weight distribution. Caudron Type F
The Caudron Type F was a French single-seat biplane produced just before World War I. China bought a dozen and at least two other examples, with different engines, competed in 1913, coming first and second in the biplane category of the cross-country race at Reims, France. Flown by Pierre Chanteloup, one was the first biplane to loop-the-loop. Design and development The Type F was a single-seat biplane with the same layout as all other Caudron land-based biplanes before it, apart from the Type B Multiplace. They were all twin-boom tractor-configuration aircraft with a short central nacelle and twin fins. Compared to the Type B-to- Type E range, the Type F differed most obviously in the nacelle design and the vertical tail shape. Handley Page Type F
The Handley Page Type F was a two-seat, single-engined monoplane designed to compete for a War Office prize for a specified military machine in 1912. It crashed before the trials got under way and, although it flew well later, only one was built. Design and development In layout and general appearance the Type F was similar to the earlier Type D and its contemporary, the Type E. Like them, the wings of the Type F had a strongly curved leading edge and a straight but swept-back trailing edge. They were wire braced above and below with the upper wires attached to a four-strut pyramidal pylon above the cockpit and below to the undercarriage structure, which was very similar to that of the Type E. The were medium Imperial Japanese Navy submarines in commission during the 1920s. They were Japan's first true seagoing submarines and the earliest Japanese submarines classified as "second-class" or "medium" submarines. Tightlock Coupling
Type H Tightlock couplers are a variety of Janney coupler, typically used on North American mainline passenger rail cars. They have mechanical features that reduce slack in normal operation and prevent telescoping in derailments, yet remain compatible with other Janney types used by North American freight railroads. Like all Janney couplers, the Tightlock is "semi-automatic". The couplers automatically lock when cars are pushed together, but workers must go between cars to hook up the air lines for the pneumatic brakes and connect cables for head-end power and other communications. To separate cars, a worker must use a lever to move the locking pin that keeps the coupler closed. Avro Type F
The Avro Type F was an early single seat British aircraft from Avro. On 1 May 1912 it became the first aircraft in the world to fly with a completely enclosed cabin for the pilot as an integral part of the design. Design and development It was a wire-braced mid-wing monoplane with a tailskid undercarriage. The fuselage was teardrop-shaped with flat sides and cellon windows. Oil leakage from the engine had been anticipated to obscure pilot view by coating cabin windows; so two circular windows at the pilot's head level could be opened for the pilot's head to protrude when flying, but their use proved unnecessary. Ingress and egress was via a sheet-aluminum trapdoor in the fuselage top. The cabin was quite cramped, being only 2 ft (60 cm) across at its widest point. F Type Adelaide Tram
The F type Adelaide tram was a class of 84 bogie, drop centre, combination trams built between 1921 and 1929 for the Municipal Tramways Trust (MTT). All bar three were built by A Pengelly & Co, Adelaide with 262, 283 and 284 being built by the MTT's Hackney workshops. The first 50 were built as the F type, while the last 34 were classified as the F1 type, the latter having an all steel as opposed to partly wooden underframe.
