St Nicholas' Park, Warwick
St. Nicholas' Park, commonly known as ''"St. Nick's"'', is a park is situated in the centre of Warwick, England. Bordering the park to the south is the River Avon (Warwickshire), River Avon. History The area which is now the park was once meadow land, also called St. Nicholas Meadow, and was situated on the southern edge of the town. The site was purchased by Warwick (district), Warwick Borough Council in the 1930s in response to the towns growth with formal and children's gardens being laid out. Following World War II the eastern side of the meadow was laid out as playing fields. There was also an outdoor swimming pool for public use. The cottages in the park by the Stream, brook (St John's Brook) were at that time a watermill. The current park The outdoor swimming pool has now been replaced by an indoor leisure centre. William Roberts (born 4 June 1998) is a British and Welsh track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . He has represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games and won a bronze medal. Cycling career Roberts was part of the Wales Racing Academy when he became a British champion, after winning the team pursuit event at the 2022 British National Track Championships. Hans Jacob Bauer (born 7 April 1985) is a New Zealand former professional road racing cyclist, who competed as a professional from 2010 to 2023. Early life Bauer was raised in a remote area of New Zealand called Parapara near the township of Tākaka in Golden Bay. In 2003, Bauer began his tertiary studies at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, whilst residing at Aquinas College in his first year.
