The State Council () was the executive authority of Communist Romania from 1961 to 1989. It was the collective head of state before the creation of the office of President in 1974. Powers 1961–1974 The State Council was created in 1961 with an amendment to the 1952 Constitution, replacing the Presidium of the Great National Assembly. It consisted of a president, three vice presidents and thirteen members. By the end of the Communist era, it comprised a president, four vice presidents, a secretary and 15 members. Gheorghe Crăciun (author)
Gheorghe Crăciun (8 May 1950, Zărnești – 30 January 2007, Constanța) was a Romanian writer and translator. Crăciun was born in Tohanu Vechi, now part of Zărnești, Brașov County. In addition to being a novelist and a translator, he was also a literary theorist. He graduated from High School in Sighișoara, and later studied at the Philology Department of the University of Bucharest. From 1990 he taught at the Department of Literature at Brașov University. In 2002 he received a doctorate in literature from Bucharest University for his thesis on ''Transitivity in Modernist and Post-Modernist Romanian Poetry''. He is considered an important author among Romanian literary figures from the 1980s. The Cibin (; ) is a river in central Romania, in the south part of Transylvania. Its source is close to the highest peak in the Cindrel Mountains (known also as Cibin Mountains) of the Southern Carpathian Mountains. Upstream from its confluence with the Râul Mic, the river is also called the ''Râul Mare''. The river flows entirely in Sibiu County. Crăciunelu de Jos (, ) is a Commune in Romania, commune located in the eastern part of Alba County, Transylvania, Romania. It has a population of 1,954 as of 2021. It is composed of a single village, Crăciunelu de Jos. It also included four other villages until 2006, when they were split off to form Bucerdea Grânoasă Commune. The commune is situated on the right bank of the Târnava, Târnava River, on the western side of the Transylvanian Plateau. It lies at a distance of from Blaj, from Teiuș, and from the county seat, Alba Iulia; it is traversed by the national road DN14B which joins Blaj (to the east) to Teiuș (to the west).
