Cricket Australia (CA) is the governing body for professional and amateur cricket in Australia. It was originally formed in 1905 as the 'Australian Board of Control for International Cricket'. It is incorporated as an Australian Public Company, limited by guarantee. Cricket Australia operates all of the Australian national representative cricket sides, including the Men's, Women's and Youth, Australia A sides, along with various other national teams (such as Indigenous, disability or over-age teams) in conjunction with the relevant organisations. Andrew Barry McDonald (born 5 June 1981) is an Australian cricket coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the Australia national cricket team. He played for the Victoria and South Australia cricket teams, and had a short career playing for Australia. McDonald made his Test match debut in Sydney on 3 January 2009, against South Africa. He represented Australia at under 19 level and played for the Prime Minister's XI. He was captain of the Australian A XI which took on South Africa in 2012. He was an allrounder who batted right-handed and was a right-arm medium-fast bowler. One Day International
One Day International (ODI) is a format of cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of fifty overs, with the game lasting up to 7 hours. The World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one-day game is a late-twentieth-century development. The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. When the first three days of the third Test were washed out officials decided to abandon the match and, instead, play a one-off one day game consisting of 40 eight-ball overs per side. Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of Twenty20 cricket, in which each team plays a single innings with a maximum of twenty overs. The matches are played between international teams recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In the T20I format, each bowler is restricted to a maximum of four overs. A mandatory powerplay is taken during the first six overs of an innings. The first T20I match took place on 17 February 2005 between Australia and New Zealand, with the first ICC T20 World Cup held in 2007.
