Cortuluá, officially named Cortuluá Fútbol Club S. A. and previously known as Corporación Club Deportivo Tuluá for short, was a Colombian football club from Tuluá, Valle del Cauca Department. It was founded in 1967 and last played in Categoría Primera B, the second-tier competition of Colombian football. In the 2001 Categoría Primera A season the team had its most successful campaign after winning the 2001 Categoría Primera A season, Apertura tournament, which granted them a spot in the 2002 Copa Libertadores. History Cortuluá was founded in 1967 by a group of people headed by Paraguayan former player and coach Hernando Acosta, and entered Categoría Primera B for its first season in 1991. In 1993, Cortuluá won its first title in the Categoría Primera B, being promoted to the Categoría Primera A, Primera A for the following year. Tuluá (), is a city located in the heart of Valle del Cauca, Colombia. The Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List, also known as the SDN List, is a United States government sanctions/embargo measure targeting U.S.-designated terrorists, officials and beneficiaries of certain authoritarian regimes, and international criminals (e.g. drug traffickers). 2017 Categoría Primera A Season
The 2017 Categoría Primera A season (officially known as the 2017 Liga Águila season for sponsorship reasons) was the 70th season of Colombia's top-flight football league. Santa Fe were the defending champions having won the title in the 2016 season's Finalización tournament. The season started on 3 February and concluded on 17 December. In the Torneo Apertura, Atlético Nacional won its sixteenth title after beating Deportivo Cali in the finals, while in the Torneo Finalización Millonarios defeated crosstown rivals Santa Fe in the finals to win its fifteenth title. The 2016 U-20 Copa Libertadores () was the 3rd edition of the U-20 Copa Libertadores, South America's premier under-20 club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL.
