Copa MX
Copa MX, also known as Copa Corona MX for sponsorship reasons, was an association football competition in Mexico and the domestic cup tournament for clubs at the highest and second levels of Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Copa México (1942–1963, 1970–1997) and also as Copa Presidente (1963–1970), the first season of the professional era was held in 1942–43. The cup tournament was not held in several years (1976–1988, 1992–1994, 1997–2012) and currently the competition has been paused since the 2019–20 edition. It was the first tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious competition, especially during its earlier years of existence. The purpose of the competition was to determine a national cup champion, thus distinguishing it from the national league championship. Las Estrellas () is a Mexican television network owned by TelevisaUnivision. Its first official broadcast took place on 21 March 1951. It airs free-to-air through affiliate stations throughout Mexico, based on XEW-TDT in Mexico City. Club León is a Mexican professional Association football, football club based in León, Guanajuato, León, Guanajuato, that competes in Liga MX, the top division of Mexican football league system, Mexican football. 2019–20 Copa MX
The 2019–20 Copa MX was the 82nd staging of the Copa MX, the 54th staging in the professional era and the fifteenth tournament played since the 1996–97 edition. The tournament started on 30 July 2019 and ended on 4 November 2020. It marked the first year since it was restored in 2012 that only one tournament will be played in the Mexican football year. In previous years, two tournaments (Apertura and Clausura) were played throughout the year. América were the defending champions after they defeated Juárez 0–1 in the Clausura 2019 final. The winners would have qualified for the 2020 Leagues Cup. However, the Leagues Cup was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in North America. 1942–43 Copa México
The 1942–43 Copa México Copa México, was the 27th staging of this Mexican association football, football cup competition. The competition started on May 30, 1943, and concluded on September 19, 1943, with the final, held at the Parque Asturias in México DF, in which Moctezuma de Orizaba, Moctezuma lifted the trophy for first time. In April 1943 in an initiative of América and Atlante started the professional era in Mexican soccer, Necaxa didn't accept that resolution and decided to retire as well the Selección Jalisco which was dissolved. The Mexican football league system is organized by the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF), except for Liga MX and Liga de Expansión MX, which are organized independently; The league system consist of six professional divisions (four men's levels and two women's levels).
