This is a year-by-year and all-time list of top scorers in the Copa Libertadores football tournament. Alberto Spencer is the all-time top goalscorer of the Copa Libertadores with 54 goals, while Daniel Onega is the record top goalscorer in a single season, with 17 goals in 1966. The data below does not include the 1948 South American Championship of Champions, as it is not listed by CONMEBOL either as a Copa Libertadores edition or as an official competition. It must be pointed out, however, that at least in the years 1996 and 1997, CONMEBOL entitled equal status to both the Copa Libertadores and the 1948 tournament, in that the 1948 champions (Vasco da Gama) were allowed to participate in the Supercopa Libertadores, a CONMEBOL official competition that allowed participation for former Libertadores champions only (for example, not admitting participation for champions of other CONMEBOL official competitions, such as the Copa CONMEBOL). Copa Libertadores
The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as Copa Libertadores de América (), is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the '' Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Spanish American wars of independence and Brazilian Independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''Liberators of America Cup''". The competition has had several formats over its lifetime. Initially, only the champions of the South American leagues participated. In 1966, the runners-up of the South American leagues began to join. In 1998, Mexican teams were invited to compete and contested regularly from 2000 until 2016. Santos Futebol Clube () is a Brazilian sports club based in Vila Belmiro, a ''bairro'' in the city of Santos, São Paulo, Santos. Norberto Raffo
Norberto Santiago Raffo (27 April 1939 – 16 December 2008) was an Argentine footballer who played as a striker. He was the Copa Libertadores de América Topscorer in Copa Libertadores 1967 with 14 goals for eventual champions Racing Club, the third highest total ever achieved in a single Copa Libertadores season. Playing career Raffo was born in the city of Avellaneda in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. He played for both of the Avellaneda giants Independiente and Racing Club winning major titles with both teams. He is best remembered by the fans of Banfield for scoring 68 goals in 180 games for the club between 1960 and 1966, making him the 3rd top scorer in the club's history. 1967 Copa Libertadores
The 1967 Copa Libertadores de América was the eighth edition of the Copa Libertadores, where 20 club teams from South American nations competed to be the champion. The tournament was divided into three rounds; the first group stage, the second group stage, and the final. The tournament was won by Racing of Argentina who beat Nacional of Uruguay. The 1965 Copa Libertadores de América was the sixth edition of South America's premier club football tournament. Colombia did not send a representative due to the disagreements between CONMEBOL and the Colombian football federation. The 1964 Copa de Campeones de América was the fifth edition of South America's premier club football tournament. For the first time since its inception, every member of CONMEBOL was represented in the competition. José Sanfilippo
José Francisco "El Nene" Sanfilippo (born 4 May 1935) is a former Argentine footballer who played as a striker. Club career Sanfilippo was born in Buenos Aires. During his club career he played for San Lorenzo, Boca Juniors and Banfield in Argentina, Nacional in Uruguay, and Bangu and SC Bahia in Brazil. Sanfilippo scored his first league goal for San Lorenzo on 21 November 1953 against Banfield, and went on to score 192 league goals for them up to 1962. In 1963, Sanfilippo moved to Boca Juniors, although in 1964 he was dismissed from the club following a disciplinary incident in a match against his former club, San Lorenzo. Sanfilippo joined Uruguayan side Nacional in 1964, after the first round of the Copa Libertadores.
