The Consulate General of the Philippines in Honolulu is a diplomatic mission of the Republic of the Philippines in the United States, representing the country's interests in Hawaii. Opened in 1946, it is located along Hawaii Route 61 (the Pali Highway) in the Nuuanu neighborhood of northern Honolulu, next to the campus of the Hawaii Baptist Academy. History The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu was opened in 1946, immediately after the Philippines was granted independence by the United States. Although initial plans to open a consulate in Honolulu were abandoned by the government due to a lack of funds, the mission was ultimately opened during the presidency of Manuel Roxas as one of the first three consulates general established by the country's newly established Department of Foreign Affairs.
