Population Inhabitants of Argentré-du-Plessis are called ''Argentréens'' in French. Sights The Château du Plessis is a local chateau with some vestiges of 16th-century construction, although it was largely rebuilt in the 19th century. The church of Notre-Dame was built between 1775 and 1779. The archaeological excavation at Bois du Pinel has uncovered fortifications dating from the 11th century, including a moat, two courtyards, and two enclosures. Andouillé-Neuville (; ; Gallo: ''Andólhae'') is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in northwestern France. Population Inhabitants of Andouillé-Neuville are called ''Andoléens''. Sights The Château de la Magnanne is a local chateau built in the 17th century. The roof has been replaced as a result of a fire in 1893. The departmental archives have preserved the archives of the chateau for the years 1389 to 1790. Amanlis
Amanlis (; ; Gallo: ''Amanli'') is a commune in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany in western France. The inhabitants of Amanlis are known as ''Amanlisiens''. The known history of Amanlis dates back to pre-Roman times, when the Riedones or Redones tribe of Gauls inhabited the area. The primary products of Amanlis are agricultural. From the 16th to the mid-19th centuries, it was a center of production of sailcloth made from locally grown hemp. Sites of interest include the parish church Saint-Martin-de-Tours and the Sainte-Anne-des-Bois chapel, which is dedicated to the patron saint of Brittany. Geography Amanlis is located approximately 14 miles southeast of Rennes, the capital of Brittany, at the junction of highways D36 and D37. The town is on the banks of the River Seiche, a tributary of the Vilaine. The countryside is hilly and dotted with farms, orchards and small woods. Acigné
Acigné (; ; Gallo: ''Aczeinyae'') is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in northwestern France. History Evidences of ancient occupation of the site go back to 3500 BCE. The areas was evangelized by Martin of Tours or his disciples in the 4th century. In 1010, Rivallon, Baron of Vitré ceded the territory of Acigné to his son Renaud. This dynasty lasted until the 16th century, when the line ended with the marriage of Judith d'Acigné to the marshall of Cossé-Brissac. From the 11th to the 18th centuries, part of the territory of the commune belonged to the Abbeys of Saint Melaine and Saint Georges in Rennes. In 1234, the castle was destroyed by the Duke of Brittany, Pierre Mauclerc to punish Alain d'Acigné for having sided with the king of France (Louis IX) against him. During the French Revolution, the village sided with its clergy and was punished by being sacked by a troupe of national guard in 1792.
