Communauté De Communes Cingal-Suisse Normande
The Communauté de communes Cingal-Suisse Normande is a federation of municipalities (''communauté de communes'') in the Calvados ''département'' and in the Normandy ''région'' of France. Its seat is Thury-Harcourt-le-Hom. Its area is 373.9 km2, and its population in 2019 was 24,516. It covers some of the Communes that make up the area known as Suisse Normande. History The Communauté de communes Cingal-Suisse Normande was formed on the 1st January 2017, when the communauté de communes du Cingal merged with the communauté de communes de la Suisse normande. Thury-Harcourt-le-Hom
Thury-Harcourt-le-Hom (; known as Le Hom before 2022) is a commune in the department of Calvados, northwestern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2016 by merger of the former communes of Thury-Harcourt (the seat), Caumont-sur-Orne, Curcy-sur-Orne, Hamars and Saint-Martin-de-Sallen. Le Hom officially changed its name to Thury-Harcourt-le-Hom effective January 1, 2022. Geography The commune is part of the area known as Suisse Normande. The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, La Hoguette, Le Val, Cropton, Martinbeau, Curcy-sur-Orne, La Bestrie, Le Quesnay, La Métairie, Le Poirier, Hamars, Saint-Silly, Paugeais, Thury-Harcourt, Les Trois Mariés, Saint-Bénin, La Fosse, Le Maizeray and Montfort. Cintheaux
Cintheaux () is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. Geography The commune is located between Caen and Falaise and is the home to the Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery. Gaumesnil was originally a separate village, now attached to Cintheaux; it has fewer than 19 residents. Sights The main town is situated around the church of Saint-Germain, classified as an official French historic monument. It was built around 1150 by the Marmion family; Robert Marmion offered it in patronage to the Barbery Abbey, subject to the Bayeux diocese, in 1181. The main (north) chapel and the cross tower, dating to the 16th century, was destroyed in 1688. The north bell tower was added in the 18th century. The church was restored between 1857 and 1902.
