Colorado Buffaloes Women's Lacrosse
The Colorado Buffaloes women's lacrosse team is an NCAA Division I college lacrosse team representing University of Colorado Boulder as part of the Big 12 Conference. They play their home games at Kittredge Field in Boulder, Colorado. History The Buffaloes fielded their first lacrosse team in 2014. In their first season they finished with a winning record of 11–8. In 2017, just the program's fourth season of existence, they started the year 9–0 with highlighted wins over #9 Northwestern, #16 UMass, #14 Denver, and #6 Penn State. The 2017 team would go on to make the 2017 NCAA Division I women's lacrosse tournament, where they would lose in a rematch to UMass. They continued this success by appearing in the NCAA tournament in both 2018 and 2019 This was the year in which the first known human case of COVID-19 was documented, preceding COVID-19 pandemic, the pandemic which was declared by the World Health Organization the following year. 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Tournament
The 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship is the 38th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of Division I NCAA women's college lacrosse. The semifinal and championship rounds will be played at Homewood Field in Baltimore from May 24–26, 2019. All other rounds will be played at campus sites, usually at the home field of the higher-seeded team, from May 7–19. Tournament field All NCAA Division I women's lacrosse programs were eligible for this championship, and a total of 28 teams were invited to participate. 15 teams qualified automatically by winning their conference tournaments while the remaining 13 teams qualified at-large based on their regular season records.
