Colorado's 27th Senate District
Colorado's 27th Senate district is one of 35 districts in the Colorado Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Tom Sullivan since 2023. Prior to redistricting the district was represented by Democrat Chris Kolker and Republican Jack Tate. Geography District 27 is based in Centennial, a suburb of Denver in southern Arapahoe County, and also covers nearby Dove Valley. The district is located entirely within Colorado's 6th congressional district, and overlaps with the 3rd, 36th, 37th, and 38th districts of the Colorado House of Representatives. The 2020 Colorado Senate elections took place on November 3, 2020, with the primary elections held on June 30, 2020. Voters in 18 out of 35 districts of the state Senate elected their representative for a four-year term. It coincided with the state House elections and the biennial United States elections. 2012 United States Presidential Election In Colorado
The 2012 United States presidential election in Colorado took place on November 6, 2012, as part of the 2012 United States presidential election in which all 50 states plus the District of Columbia participated. Colorado voters chose nine electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote pitting incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama and his running mate, Vice President Joe Biden, against Republican challenger and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and his running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan. Obama and Biden carried Colorado with 51.49% of the popular vote to Romney's and Ryan's 46.13%, thus winning the state's nine electoral votes by a 5.36% margin. John Hickenlooper
John Wright Hickenlooper Jr. (; born February 7, 1952) is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Colorado since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 42nd governor of Colorado from 2011 to 2019 and as the 43rd mayor of Denver from 2003 to 2011. He was a geologist and businessman before entering politics. Born in Narberth, Pennsylvania, Hickenlooper is a graduate of Wesleyan University. Cory Gardner
Cory Scott Gardner (born August 22, 1974) is an American attorney, lobbyist, and politician who served as a United States senator from Colorado from 2015 to 2021. A Republican, he was the U.S. representative for Colorado's 4th congressional district from 2011 to 2015 and a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Gardner defeated Democratic incumbent Mark Udall in the 2014 Senate race. Gardner was chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee from 2017 to 2019.
