Cian O'Sullivan (hurler)
Cian O'Sullivan (born 1998) is an Irish hurler who plays for Dublin Championship club St. Brigid's and at inter-county level with the Dublin senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left corner-forward. Career A member of the St. Brigid's club in Castleknock, O'Sullivan first came to prominence on the inter-county scene with the Dublin minor team that won the 2016 Leinster Minor Championship. He subsequently spent two seasons with the Dublin under-21 team, while simultaneously lining out with Trinity College in the Fitzgibbon Cup. O'Sullivan made his senior debut during the 2017 National League. O'Sullivan is the current top scorer from play in the 2025 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship on Dublins run to the Semi-Final. Scoring 5-22 in 8 Championship matches. Including 2-5 v Cork, 1-1 v Limerick, 1-5 v Kilkenny, 3pts over both Galway and Wexford. Castleknock
Castleknock () is an affluent village in County Dublin, Ireland, located west of the centre of Dublin city. It is in the modern county of Fingal. In addition to the village, the name "Castleknock" also refers to older units of land division: a townland, a civil parish and a barony. The 2025 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship (SHC) is due to be the 138th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament, since its establishment in 1887 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, 1887. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into five divisions, with seven teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Fitzgibbon Cup
The Fitzgibbon Cup () is the trophy for the premier hurling championship among higher education institutions (universities, colleges and institutes of technology) in Ireland. The Fitzgibbon Cup competition is administered by Comhairle Ard Oideachais Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (CLG), the GAA's Higher Education Council. Comhairle Ard Oideachais also oversees the Ryan Cup (tier 2 hurling championship), the Fergal Maher Cup (tier 3 hurling championship) and the Padraig MacDiarmada (tier 4 hurling championship). The GAA Higher Education Cups are sponsored by Electric Ireland. History The cup is named after Dr. Edwin Fitzgibbon, a Capuchin friar and, from 1911 to 1936, who was Professor of Philosophy at University College Cork.
