Church (Liverpool Ward)
Church ward is an electoral district of Liverpool City Council. The ward is within the Liverpool Garston Parliamentary constituency. Background The ward was created in 1953 and elected three councillors. The boundaries of the ward were changed for the 1973, 1980, 2004 and 2023 elections. 1980 boundaries A report of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England published in November 1978 set out proposals for changes to the wards of Liverpool City Council, maintaining the number of councillors at 99 representing 33 wards. Church ward was represented by three councillors. Richard Kemp (politician)
Richard Charles Kemp (born 1952/1953) is the Lord Mayor of Liverpool for 2024/25. He was previously the Leader of the Liberal Democrats in Local Government and Vice Chair of the Local Government Association of England & Wales for over seven years until August 2011. A member of Liverpool City Council for 47 years, he was Leader of the Liberal Democrats and opposition on the Council for 11 years until standing down to become Deputy Lord Mayor. Cllr Kemp has been a member of the Board of the Local Authority Mutual Investment Trust since 2011 and its Chair since 1 January 2019. King David High School is a mixed voluntary aided Jewish ethos-based secondary school located in the Wavertree district of Liverpool, England. It provides Jewish education, but also admits and caters to students of other faiths. Facilities In September 2011, the primary and secondary moved into a new school building, as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. There are three floors in King David. On the ground floor, there are the "creative" subjects, including ICT, business, art, design technology, and PE. There is also the reception area, sixth form common room, and atrium.
