Christopher Hinton, Baron Hinton of Bankside (12 May 190122 June 1983) was a British nuclear engineer, and supervisor of the construction of Calder Hall, the first large-scale nuclear power station in the West. Career Hinton was born on 12 May 1901 at Tisbury, Wiltshire. He attended school in Chippenham where his father was a schoolmaster, and left school at 16 to become an engineering apprentice with the Great Western Railway at Swindon. Chris Hinton
Christopher Jerrod Hinton (born July 31, 1961) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the Indianapolis Colts franchise. In addition to his seven seasons with the Colts, he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons for four seasons and the Minnesota Vikings for two seasons. Hinton played college football for the Northwestern Wildcats and was selected fourth overall in the 1983 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos, who traded him to the Colts during the draft. Over the course of his career, he was named to seven Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pros. He was inducted to the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor in 2001. College career A graduate of Chicago's Phillips High School, Hinton began attending Northwestern University in 1979 and was originally a tight end. Christopher Hinton (born 1952 in Galt, Ontario) is a Canadian film animator, film director and professor, living in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Hinton's films have won international awards and been twice nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film: in 1991 for the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) animated short film '' Blackfly'' and in 2003 for his independently made short ''Nibbles''. Hinton won a Genie Award for his 2004 short film '' cNote''. He began freelancing for the NFB in Winnipeg in the 1970s. He has written and directed over a dozen films for The National Film Board of Canada, CBC, & Sesame Street. Recent films, ''Flux'' (NFB,2003), '' cNote'' (NFB, 2005), ''Chroma Concerto'' (2007), and ''Compression'' (2008), explore the boundaries of narrative and abstraction and the integration of contemporary media into the moving image.
