Christopher Edward Hansen (born September 13, 1959) is an American television journalist and YouTube personality. He is known for his work on ''Dateline NBC'', in particular the former segment ''To Catch a Predator'', which revolved around catching potential Internet sex predators using a sting operation. He also hosts ''Killer Instinct'' on Investigation Discovery, which documents homicide investigations. In September 2016, he became the new host for the second season of the syndicated show ''Crime Watch Daily''. Early life and education Hansen was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 13, 1959 and grew up in West Bloomfield Township and Birmingham, Michigan. Christopher A. Hansen is an American civil rights attorney, notable for litigating many cases while at the ACLU, including the '' AMP v. Myriad Genetics'' (2013) case at the US Supreme Court and the ACLU's efforts in ''ACLU v. Reno'' (1997). Hansen was at the ACLU for 40 years, from 1973 to 2013, retiring as Senior National Staff Counsel, and the ACLU's longest-serving attorney. Hansen graduated from Carleton College in 1969 and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago. He joined the ACLU in 1973, working with its newly founded Mental Health Law Project. Chris Hansen (born 7 May 1956) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy and Footscray in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Hansen was originally from Old Trinity Grammarians and won the Woodrow Medal in 1976. A defender, Hansen often played on the tall opposition forward. Christopher Joshi Hansen (born Christopher Craig Hansen; June 16, 1975) is an American politician who serves in the Colorado Senate from the 31st as a member of the Democratic Party since 2020. Prior to his service in the state senate he served in the Colorado House of Representatives from the 6th district from 2017 to 2020. Hansen was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and raised in Goodland, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University, University of the Witwatersrand, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Linacre College, Oxford. He started working at Cambridge Energy Research Associates in 2005. Hansen was elected to the state house in the 2016 election and was reelected in the 2018 election. During his tenure in the state house he served as the chair of the Appropriations committee. No Sleep Records is an American independent record label in Huntington Beach, California. They were founded by Chris Hansen in 2006 and have released records by artists including Balance and Composure, La Dispute, and The Wonder Years. They have released free sampler albums on the internet on a number of occasions and the label closely associates itself with vegan lifestyle and the revived interest in vinyl record sales. History Early development (2006–2009) Chris Hansen, the record label's founder, started at the bottom of the music industry in an attempt to build up experience and knowledge of owning a label. He started at Smartpunk and Fearless Records working in the mail room. No Sleep properly released their first album when a friend of Hansen offered to release an already fully-funded and complete album on his newly-constructed label.
