Casabona
Casabona ( Calabrian: ) is a ''comune'' and town with a population of about 4,000 people in the province of Crotone, in Calabria, southern Italy. History Legends surrounding Casabona, or what would later become Casabona, date to antiquity. According to Strabo, the mythical king Philoctetes established several cities in Italy, including Petilia, Old Crimissa and a settlement called ''Chone''. This ''Chone'', part of Magna Graecia, is thought to have been ancient Casabona. An early reference to the town dates to 1198, when Pope Innocent III penned a letter to a certain Nicodemus in order to confirm the existence of certain assets in the "territory of Casabona". By 1300, Casabona was the last town in the fiefs of the Abenante family; in 1472, it was passed to Diego di Cavaniglia, count of Montella. Chone is a town in the province of Manabí Province, Manabí in Ecuador. It is located in Ecuador's low-lying coastal region and plays an important role as a transport hub, transportation hub. Desmond DeChone Figgins (; ; born January 22, 1978), nicknamed "Figgy", is an American former professional baseball third baseman and outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Seattle Mariners, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Chone Monastery (Tibetan: Wylie: ; Chinese: Jonê; Pinyin: Zhuōní), also Chone Gonchen Ganden Shedrubling, or Choni Monastery was originally a Sakya monastery. It is situated adjacent to Liulin, Jonê County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, China, at an altitude of about 2,610 m (8,563 ft).
