Chocolate (color)
The color chocolate or cocoa brown is a shade of brown that resembles chocolate. At right is displayed the color traditionally called ''chocolate''. The first recorded use of ''chocolate'' as a color name in English was in 1737. This color is a representation of the color of the most common type of chocolate, milk chocolate. Etymology The word ''chocolate'' entered the English language from Spanish. How the word came into Spanish is less certain, and there are multiple competing explanations. Perhaps the most cited explanation is that "chocolate" comes from Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs, from the word "chocolātl", which many sources derived from the Nahuatl word "xocolātl" made up from the words "xococ" meaning sour or bitter, and "ātl" meaning water or refreshment. However, as William Bright noted the word "chocolatl" does not occur in central Mexican colonial sources making this an unlikely derivation. Chocolate is a food made from roasted and ground cocoa beans that can be a liquid, solid, or paste, either by itself or to flavoring, flavor other foods. Cocoa beans are the processed seeds of the cacao tree (''Theobroma cacao''); unprocessed, they taste intensely bitter. The shell is removed to reveal nibs, which are ground to chocolate liquor: unadulterated chocolate in rough form. Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever or simply Labrador or Lab is a British list of dog breeds, breed of water dog retriever gun dog. It was developed in the United Kingdom from St. John's water dogs imported from the Newfoundland Colony, colony of Newfoundland (now a Newfoundland and Labrador, province of Canada), and was named after the Labrador region of that colony. Chocolate Mountains
The Chocolate Mountains of California are located in Imperial and Riverside counties in the Colorado Desert of Southern California. The mountains stretch more than 60 miles (100 km) in a northwest to southeast direction, and are located east of the Salton Sea and south and west of the Chuckwalla Mountains and the Colorado River. To the northwest lie the Orocopia Mountains. Geography The Chocolate Mountains form the northeast boundary of the Salton Trough extending as a narrow range some southeast from the Orocopia Mountains to the Colorado River valley. The mountains are located about west of the Chocolate Mountains of Arizona, but the two ranges are not connected.
