China Men's National Field Hockey Team
The China men's national field hockey team represents the China in international field hockey matches and tournaments. History The team participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Most of the players have traditionally been from Inner Mongolia, where the Daur people have been playing Beikou, a game similar to field hockey, for about 1,000 years. The modern game started in China in the mid 1970s. The team has since developed its talent with some overseas Chinese players became eligible to play for the team after 3 years of residence. This is evident in players such as Tim Tsung, who arrived from England 5 years ago and played for the English U16 National team for 3 years (he was signed by the national team and made his debut after a series of successful training sessions and friendly matches). The Chinese Hockey Association is the sports governing body, governing body of field hockey in People's Republic of China. It is affiliated to IHF International Hockey Federation and AHF Asian Hockey Federation. The headquarters of the federation are in Beijing, China. Jun Lei is the President of the Chinese Hockey Association and Weifeng Zong is the General Secretary. The men's field hockey tournament at the 2022 Asian Games was the 17th edition of the field hockey event for men at the Asian Games. It was held alongside the women's tournament at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Field Hockey Field in Hangzhou, China from 24 September to 6 October 2023. India won their fourth Asian Games title by defeating the defending champions Japan 5–1 in the final. South Korea won the bronze medal after defeating the hosts China 2–1. The winners of the tournament qualified as Asian representatives to the Field hockey at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2016 Summer Olympics. The Field hockey event at the 2010 Asian Games was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, People's Republic of China, China from 13 November 2010 for women and 15 November 2010 for men.
