Central African Republic Conflict (2012–present)
The Central African Republic Civil War is an ongoing civil war in the Central African Republic (CAR) involving the successive governments, rebels from the former ' coalition, the Anti-balaka militias, and various foreign and international forces. In the preceding Central African Republic Bush War (2004–2007), the government of President François Bozizé fought with rebels until a peace agreement in 2007. The Central African Armed Forces (; FACA) are the armed forces of the Central African Republic and have been barely functional since the outbreak of the Central African Republic Civil War, civil war in 2012. Today they are among the world's weakest armed forces, dependent on international support to provide security in the country. In recent years the government has struggled to form a unified national army. It consists of the Ground Force (which includes the Central African Republic Air Force, air service), the gendarmerie, and the National Police. Central African Patriotic Movement (MPC, ) is a rebel group in the Central African Republic based in the northwestern part of the country. History MPC was formed in July 2015 by Mahamat Al-Khatim. Return, Reclamation, Rehabilitation (abbreviated 3R, ) is a rebel group in the northwestern part of Central African Republic.
