Cee'd
The Kia Ceed (known as the Kia Cee'd before 2018) is a compact car/small family car (C-segment) produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kia since 2006 exclusively for the European market. It is the first Kia vehicle to be designed entirely in Europe and tailored to European customers. To mark the occasion, Kia took the initials of the European Economic Community, EEC or CEE in several languages and added ED for European Design. Realizing that "CEEED" had too many ‘E's, they replaced the last 'E' with an apostrophe, with 'Cee'd' being the end result. Since 2018, the Ceed name does not include an apostrophe. The initials now mean "Community of Europe, with European Design". The model has been manufactured at the Kia Motors Slovakia assembly plant in Žilina since October 2006. The Ceed replaced the Cerato which had little success in Europe. The Ceed was first unveiled on 28 September 2006 at the Paris Motor Show. In mid-2007, a station wagon version called the Cee'd sw was ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Hyundai Elantra
The Hyundai Elantra (), also known as the Hyundai Avante (), is a compact car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 1990. The Elantra was initially marketed as the ''Lantra'' in Australia and some European markets. In Australia, this was due to the similarly named Mitsubishi Magna Elante model; similarly, in other markets, the name Avante is not used due to its similarity with Audi's "Avant" designation, which is used for their line-up of station wagons. The name was standardized as "Elantra" worldwide in 2001 (except in South Korea, Singapore and Russia). __TOC__ First generation (J1; 1990) The Elantra (codename ''J1'') was launched in October 1990, and received a mid-term facelift in 1993. It was sold in Europe from the spring of 1991. It replaced the somewhat larger on the outside Stellar, although that model had not been offered in many markets. The Elantra competed with the likes of the Ford Sierra and Vauxhall Cavalier/Opel Vectra, but at a ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Hyundai Beta Engine
The Hyundai Beta engines are 1.6 L to 2.0 L I4 built in Ulsan, South Korea. All Beta engines are dual overhead camshaft valvetrain (DOHC) design. The Beta engine uses a direct-acting overhead cam valvetrain arrangement which places the camshaft in the cylinder head above the pistons and combustion chamber and operates the valve tappets/lifters directly. The Beta engine's ignition system is designed to ignite the fuel/air charge that enters each cylinder by producing a high voltage spark at the exact moment for maximum efficiency. All Beta versions are equipped with a Distributorless Ignition System (DIS). The system consists of the ignition coil assembly, Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP), Powertrain Control Module (PCM), spark plug wires and spark plugs. The Beta engine family includes the following engine codes: G4GR, G4GB, G4GC, G4GF and G4GM. Beta 1.6L (G4GR) The 1.6-liter Beta (Engine code: G4GR) is an in-line, spark-ignition 4-stroke, dual overhead camshaft (D ... Geneva Motor Show
The Geneva International Motor Show was an annual auto show held in March in the Swiss city of Geneva. The show was hosted at the Palexpo, a convention centre located next to the Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The Salon was organised by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles, and was considered an important major international auto show. First held in 1905, the Salon hosted almost all major internal combustion engined models in the history of the automobile, along with benzene- and steam-powered cars from the beginning of the century. Exotic supercars often steal the spotlight during their debuts at the show. Prototypes, new equipment, technical breakthroughs, international partnerships, as well as political and social debates, have been announced at the exhibition. The show was regarded as a level playing field for the world's automakers, aided by the fact Switzerland lacked an auto industry of its own. The Geneva International Motor Show wa ...
