Cassano d'Adda (Milanese: ; Bergamasque: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Milan, Lombardy, Italy, located on the right side of the Adda River. It is on the border of the Metropolitan City of Milan and the province of Bergamo. It is served by Cassano d'Adda railway station. Geography The territory of Cassano d'Adda is divided in two parts, which are both characterised by a difference in height of 20–25 meters, by the river Adda. The Milan–Venice railway line is one of the most important railway lines in Italy. It connects the major city of Milan, in Lombardy, with the Adriatic Sea at Venice, in Veneto. Trenord is a railway company which is responsible for the operation of regional and suburban passenger trains mainly in Lombardy. The company was established by the two main railway companies in Lombardy, Trenitalia and Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM), to manage train operations in the region. Milano Centrale () is the main railway station of the city of Milan, Italy, and is the second busiest railway station in Italy for passenger flow (after Roma Termini) and the largest railway station in Europe by volume. The station is a terminus and located at the northern end of central Milan. The S5 is a commuter railway route forming part of the Milan suburban railway service (), which converges on the city of Milan, Italy. The route runs over the infrastructure of the Porto Ceresio–Milan, Milan Passante and Milan–Venice railways. The line is operated by Trenord.
