Casey O'Brien (Wicklow Hurler)
Casey O'Brien (born August 27, 2001) is an American college ice hockey forward for Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey, Wisconsin of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). She won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season, 2025. Early life and education O'Brien was born to Erika and James O'Brien and has two older brothers, Jack and Max. She grew up in New York City before moving to Boston at the age of 10. She attended Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Massachusetts during her freshman year. She then joined Shattuck-Saint Mary's in Faribault, Minnesota for her sophomore year. During her sophomore year, she recorded 37 goals and 43 assists in 56 games. During her junior year, she recorded 52 goals and 42 assists in 49 games and was named the USA Today Girls Hockey Player of the Year. Hilary Knight
Hilary Atwood Knight (born July 12, 1989) is an American ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward for PWHL Seattle of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is also captain of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She previously played for the Les Canadiennes de Montréal of the CWHL and the Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League, NWHL, with whom she won the inaugural Isobel Cup, and the Boston Fleet of the PWHL. Knight played high school hockey for Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut and college ice hockey, college hockey at Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey, Wisconsin. Bemidji State Beavers Women's Ice Hockey
The Bemidji State Beavers are a women's college hockey team representing Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota, United States. They play at the NCAA Division I level, and compete in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). History The Bemidji State University intercollegiate women's ice hockey program began competition in the 1998–1999 season. The first head coach was Ruthann Cantile. She was head coach from the program's founding to the start of WCHA play, and the beginning of national NCAA Championships in 2001. The 2025 WCHA Ice Hockey Tournament was the 26th edition of the WCHA Tournament. It was played between February 28 and March 8, 2025. The final two rounds were hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth at AMSOIL Arena, after the first round was played at the home ice of the top four seeds. Wisconsin entered the tournament as the defending champions. Wisconsin repeated as tournament champions and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey tournament. Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college ice hockey conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The Boston College Eagles women's ice hockey team represent Boston College in the NCAA and participate in Hockey East. The Eagles are coached by former Olympic gold medallist Katie King-Crowley and play their home games at Conte Forum. Caroline "K.K." Harvey (born October 14, 2002) is an American college ice hockey defenceman for Wisconsin and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She represented the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Playing career Harvey was originally committed to play college ice hockey for the Wisconsin during the 2021–22 NCAA season but deferred to the 2022–23 NCAA season after being selected to represent team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Kirsten Simms (born August 31, 2004) is an American college ice hockey forward for the University of Wisconsin of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was named Most Outstanding Player at the 2025 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey tournament. 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey Tournament
The 2024 NCAA National Collegiate women's ice hockey tournament was a single-elimination tournament by eleven schools to determine the national champion of women's NCAA Division I college ice hockey. This was the third year the tournament features an expanded field of 11 teams.
