Carrer De Joaquín Costa, Barcelona
Carrer de Joaquín Costa is a street in the city centre of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It belongs to the neighbourhood of Raval, beginning at Plaça de Goya by Ronda de Sant Antoni and finally converging into Carrer del Carme. The area surrounding it is a well-known nightlife district, and many bars . From working class beginnings, the street has been in a continuous state of gentrification during the 2000s (decade) and has become more mainstream attention in recent years, as well as a residential area home to many Filipino and Pakistani immigrants. Teatre Goya and the Aragonese Cultural Centre are on the northern end of Joaquín Costa. Joaquín Costa
Joaquín Costa (September 14, 1846, Monzón, Huesca Province – February 8, 1911, Graus, Huesca Province) was a Spanish politician, lawyer, economist and historian. The son of an Aragonese farmer and his first wife, Costa was self-educated and campaigned to end what he considered to be Spanish backwardness. He desired to start a movement that would force politicians to embark on a program of educational, social, and economic reform. According to Raymond Carr his ideas, known as ' Regenerationism' (scientific study of Spain's decline as a nation), rose to greater prominence in the aftermath of Spain's defeat in the Spanish–American War. Line 2 is a Barcelona metro, metro line in Barcelona operated by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, TMB, coloured purple and sometimes called ''línia lila''. Universitat is a Barcelona Metro station named after Plaça de la Universitat, split between Eixample and Ciutat Vella districts of Barcelona, where the station is located in. Enriqueta Martí Ripollés (1868 – 12 May 1913) was a Spanish child serial killer, kidnapper, prostitute and Procuring (prostitution), procuress of children.
