Via Carpathia (also Via Carpatia) is a under construction transnational highway network connecting Klaipėda in Lithuania with Thessaloniki in Greece. It is currently planned to open in 2025. The route largely runs through the Carpathian Mountains, hence its name. The Polish part of Via Carpatia has been named in 2021 after late President of Poland, President Lech Kaczyński. History The route was initially agreed upon in 2006 by Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. In 2010, this group was joined by Romania, Bulgaria and Greece who signed the so-called ''Łańcut Declaration.'' On 22 June 2017, Poland and Ukraine signed a cooperation agreement for the construction of the road. Signatories indicated the road could be part of the Trans-European Transport Networks, Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). RMS ''Carpathia'' was a Cunard Line transatlantic crossing, transatlantic passenger steamship built by Swan Hunter, Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson in their shipyard in Wallsend, England. The ''Carpathia'' made her maiden voyage in 1903 from Liverpool to Boston, and continued on this route before being transferred to Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean service in 1904. In April 1912, she became famous for rescuing survivors of the rival White Star Line's after Sinking of the Titanic, it struck an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic Ocean. The ''Carpathia'' navigated the ice fields to arrive two hours after the ''Titanic'' had sunk, and the crew rescued 705 survivors from the ship's lifeboats. The ''Carpathia'' was sunk during the First World War on 17 July 1918 after being torpedoed three times by the German Empire, German submarine off the southern Irish coast, with a loss of five crew members. The Tangent is a progressive rock group formed in 2002, led by keyboardist and singer Andy Tillison. History Formation The band was formed in 2002 by Parallel or 90 Degrees keyboardists Andy Tillison and Sam Baine and multi-instrumentalist Guy Manning; The Flower Kings' guitarist Roine Stolt, bassist Jonas Reingold, and drummer Zoltan Csörsz; and renowned saxophonist David Jackson (rock musician), David Jackson of Van der Graaf Generator. Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Amityville, New York, formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes and bassist Jesse Lacey in late 1999. The band's current members are Adam Lazzara (lead vocals), John Nolan (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals) and Shaun Cooper (bass guitar), accompanied by Nathan Cogan (guitar) for their live performances. The band's former members include Lacey, Reyes, drummer Mark O'Connell, bassist Matthew Rubano, and guitarist-vocalists Fred Mascherino and Matthew Fazzi. Lacey quit Taking Back Sunday in 1999 and in 2000 formed the rock band Brand New, with whom Taking Back Sunday would become embroiled in a highly publicized feud.
