Caroline's Comedy Competition
Carolines on Broadway was a venue for stand-up comedy situated at 750 Seventh Avenue, on Broadway between 49th and 50th Streets, in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. The club operated from 1981 to 2022. History Caroline Hirsch opened Carolines as a cabaret in the Chelsea neighborhood in 1981 with two friends. Hirsch advocated to make it a comedy club and booked Jay Leno as its first performer. In 1983, Paul Reubens performed at the club, helping the club grow in popularity. In 1987, Carolines moved to South Street Seaport where it became established as the country's top comedy venue. It also served as home to the A&E series, ''Caroline's Comedy Hour'', which ran for six years and won a CableACE award for "Best Stand-Up Comedy Series". Mario Cantone (born December 9, 1959) is an American comedian, writer, actor, singer, and television host. He is best known for his numerous stage shows. He played Anthony Marentino in '' Sex and the City'' and Terri in '' Men in Trees'' (2006–2008). Curbed
Curbed is an American real estate and urban design website published by ''New York'' magazine. Founded as a blog by Lockhart Steele in 2006 to cover New York City real estate, it grew by 2010 to feature sub-pages dedicated to specific real estate markets and metropolitan areas across the United States. Steele once described ''Curbed.com'' as an " Architectural Digest after a three-martini lunch". The site hosted an annual contest, the Curbed Cup, to pick the best neighborhood in each city. The Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) is the State owned sovereign wealth fund of the State of Kuwait, managing the state's reserve and the state's future generation fund, also known as "Ajyal Fund".
