Carl-Michael Eide
Carl-Michael Eide (born 24 July 1974), also known under the stage names Aggressor, Czral and Exhurtum, is a Norwegian black metal multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter best known for his work with metal bands Ved Buens Ende, Aura Noir and Virus. Eide has played in various black metal and avant-garde metal bands, including Cadaver, Dødheimsgard, Satyricon, Ulver and Infernö, and has been a session drummer for Dimmu Borgir. Eide's drumming style consists of very little repetition and a tendency to shy away from traditional drumming. In addition to the usual harsh vocals of black metal, Eide uses a form of croon in the avant-garde metal bands Ved Buens Ende and Virus. He lost the use of his feet due to a falling accident in 2005, where he fell from a four-story building and spent several months in hospital, and has not been able to play drums since, but is still active as a vocalist, guitarist and bassist. Vocalist
Singing is the art of creating music with the voice. It is the oldest form of musical expression, and the human voice can be considered the first musical instrument. The definition of singing varies across sources. Some sources define singing as the act of creating musical sounds with the voice. Other common definitions include "the utterance of words or sounds in tuneful succession" or "the production of musical tones by means of the human voice". A person whose profession is singing is called a singer or a vocalist (in jazz or popular music). Singers perform music (arias, recitatives, songs, etc.) that can be sung with or without accompaniment by musical instruments. Singing is often done in an ensemble of musicians, such as a choir. Singers may perform as soloists or accompanied by anything from a single instrument (as in art songs or some jazz styles) up to a symphony orchestra or big band. Many styles of singing exist throughout the world. Singing can be formal or ...

Vargnatt
''Vargnatt'' is the debut demo tape by Norwegian black metal band Ulver, issued in 1993 independently. The cassette was limited to 200 hand-numbered copies. The demo was self-produced by Ulver, and recorded in the Norwegian trollforest between 15 and 17 October 1993. This is the only release (besides a rehearsal tape) to feature guitarists Reza and Grellmund (the latter of which committed suicide in 1996), and drummer Czral, as they had left after the new year. Their music and style was consistent with the early Norwegian black metal subculture during the early 1990s. However some have noted the avant-garde, jazz, rock and gothic influences that would later shape the band's sound. The archaic Dano-Norwegian lyrics were greatly influenced by Scandinavian folktales and inspired by Baroque poets such as Ludvig Holberg and the hymn-writer Thomas Kingo. The cover art contains a 19th-century engraving of a werewolf from the Mansell Collection in London. According to ''Avantgarde ...

Croon
A crooner is a singer who performs with a smooth, intimate style that originated in the 1920s. The crooning style was made possible by better microphones that picked up quieter sounds and a wider range of frequencies, allowing the singer to access a greater dynamic range and exploit the proximity effect. This suggestion of intimacy was supposedly wildly attractive to women, especially a youth subculture known at the time as " bobby soxers". The crooning style developed among singers who performed with big bands, and reached its height in the 1940s to late 1960s. Crooning is epitomized by jazz vocalists of the era such as Bing Crosby, Rudy Vallee and Frank Sinatra, although Sinatra did not consider himself or Crosby to be "crooners". Other performers, such as Russ Columbo, also rejected the term. History This dominant popular vocal style coincided with the advent of radio broadcasting and electrical recording. Before the advent of the microphone, singers had to project to th ...
