Canada's Got Talent Season 4
The fourth season of the Canadian talent show competition series '' Canada's Got Talent'' premiered on March 19, 2024. The season was won by Rebecca Strong, a singer from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Format Auditions The auditions took place in front of the judges and a live audience. At any time during the audition, the judges showed their disapproval of the act by pressing a buzzer, which lights a large red "X" on the stage. If all the judges pressed their buzzers, the act must end. Voting worked on a majority-of-three basis, where three positive votes from the judges were required. The Golden Buzzer is placed in the center of the stage, and each judge (or the host) can only press the Golden Buzzer once, sending an act straight to the eliminations. Lindsay Ell
Lindsay Elizabeth Ell (born 20 March 1989) is a Canadian-American country pop singer, songwriter, guitarist and television personality from Calgary, Alberta. Carbonear is a town on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It overlooks the west side of Conception Bay and had a history long tied to fishing and shipbuilding. Bad Day (Daniel Powter Song)
"Bad Day" is a pop song by Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powter from his self-titled second studio album (2005). It was written by Powter and produced by Jeff Dawson and Mitchell Froom. Powter and Dawson recorded the song in 2002, but were initially unable to find a record label to release it. The song was first used in a French Coca-Cola television advertisement in Christmas 2004 before its official release. Tom Whalley, Warner Bros. Records' chairman and CEO, offered Powter a contract after hearing a demo tape of it. This track ended up being released as the aforementioned album's lead single in Europe in early 2005. Daniel Powter
Daniel Richard Powter (; born February 25, 1971) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. His 2005 pop single " Bad Day" topped the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for five weeks. He was nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 49th Grammy Awards for "Bad Day" and won the Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2006. Powter's subsequent work never reached the same success as "Bad Day", with ''Billboard'' dubbing him the top "one-hit wonder" of the 2000s. Early life Powter grew up in Coldstream, outside of Vernon, in the Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia. Powter started playing the violin at four years old.
