However, due to various problems encountered by the Perrier company at the time, the campaign was cancelled. The single was released anyway and reached number 37 in the UK charts, and included on the album. Status Quo (band)
Status Quo are a British rock band. The group originated in London and was founded in 1962 by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster while they were still schoolboys. After a number of name and lineup changes, which included the introduction of John Coghlan (drummer), John Coghlan in 1963 and Rick Parfitt in 1967, the band became The Status Quo in 1967 and Status Quo in 1969. As of 2022, the group have been active for 60 consecutive years (despite announcing a breakup in 1984, they played Live Aid the following year and resumed normal activities in 1986). They have had over 60 chart hits in the UK – more than any other band – including "Pictures of Matchstick Men" (their first charting song), "Caroline (Status Quo song), Caroline" (their first top 5 hit), and "Down Down" (their only No. 1 hit). ''Rock 'til You Drop'' is the twentieth studio album by English rock band Status Quo and their last on the Vertigo label after nearly 20 years. Singer and guitarist Francis Rossi produced the album. "Rossi is particularly fond of 1991's ''Rock 'til You Drop''," reported ''Classic Rock'' a decade later. " Guitarist Rick Parfitt hates the record." The album closes with a version of "Forty Five Hundred Times" that's one verse and three minutes longer than the '' Hello!'' original. "We were trying to make the song current for that incarnation of the band," said Rossi. "Whether or not we were successful in that… well, probably not. "The Anniversary Waltz" is the title of two medley singles released in 1990 by English rock band Status Quo. The medleys consist of hit songs from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. One of the songs performed, Dion's " The Wanderer" had previously been covered by Status Quo in 1984. "The Anniversary Waltz" was divided into two parts for release as a single. Part One was the bigger hit, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart, and was included on their 1990 compilation album '' Rocking All Over the Years''. The sleeves for all formats feature the legend 'It's Live Sonny' which was included (together with a small sketch of a rabbit) in answer to critics who had likened the Anniversary Waltz to previous releases by Jive Bunny. The proposed cover for "Fakin' the Blues" was adapted for this release. This was the last 12 inch vinyl release from the band. ''Rockin' All Over the World'' is the tenth studio album by United Kingdom, British band Status Quo (band), Status Quo. It is their first to be produced by Pip Williams. Released in November 1977, it reached #5 in the UK. "A poxy album," said guitarist and singer Francis Rossi. "There's nothing poxy about ''Rockin' All Over the World''," countered guitarist Rick Parfitt. "It's fucking great. Pip added some class into the production and, from then onwards, we got quite posh – for us." Uncharacteristically, bassist Alan Lancaster agreed with Rossi: "When Pip Williams started producing us was when everything started to go wrong."
