''Calisto'' is a butterfly genus from the subfamily Satyrinae in the family Nymphalidae. The genus was erected by Jacob Hübner in 1823. Members of the genus occur on the Caribbean islands only. Calisto MT
Calisto MT is an old-style serif typeface designed for the Monotype Corporation foundry in 1986 by Ron Carpenter, a British typographer. Calisto MT is intended to function as both a typeface for body text and display text. Its stroke contrast is minimal and it preserves an even color, especially in smaller point sizes, which contributes to its great legibility. Its Roman and italic glyphs are animated by serifs and terminals that are cut on an angle to the baseline, and are concavely indented on the terminals, reminiscent of the Belwe and Palatino typefaces. ''La Calisto'' is an Italian opera by Francesco Cavalli from a libretto by Giovanni Faustini based on the mythological story of Callisto (mythology), Callisto. The opera received its first performance on 28 November 1651 at the Teatro Sant'Apollinare, Venice, where it drew limited audiences for its run of eleven performances. In the twentieth century it was successfully revived. Libretto The libretto was published in 1651 by Giuliani and Batti. The story combines two myths: Jupiter's seduction of Calisto, and Diana's adventure with Endymion (mythology), Endymion. The plot is somewhat formulaic: Jane Glover has commented on how the librettist had to invent complications to meet audience expectations in the context of Venetian opera. Performance history Faustini, who was an impresario as well as a librettist, rented the Sant'Apollinare Theatre in 1650. Calisto Tanzi
Calisto Tanzi (17 November 1938 – 1 January 2022) was an Italian businessman. He founded Parmalat in 1961, after dropping out of college. Parmalat collapsed in 2003 with a €14bn ($20bn; £13bn) hole in its accounts in what remains Europe's biggest bankruptcy. In 2008 Tanzi was found to have embezzled an estimated €800 million from the company, and was jailed for fraud. Although sentenced to up to 18 years in prison, Tanzi served just over two years in jail and then was placed under house arrest. Trials and imprisonment Parmalat fraud In December 2008, Tanzi was convicted by a Milan court and sentenced to 10 years in prison for fraud. Tanzi appealed the sentence but the appeals court upheld it in May 2010. The Corte di Cassazione reduced it to eight years and one month, after which Tanzi was imprisoned on 5 May 2011. Henrique Calisto
Henrique Manuel da Silva Calisto (born 16 October 1953) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a right-back, and is a manager. After his playing career ended he became a manager, taking charge of numerous clubs, mainly in Portugal, and also managed the Vietnamese national team. Playing career Born in Matosinhos, Calisto played three seasons in the Primeira Liga with local Leixões SC. His best output consisted of 17 matches (one goal) in 1973–74, with the team finishing in 14th position. Calisto retired from professional football in June 1978 at only 24, after one season with A.D. Fafe in the second division. CALLISTO (''Cooperative Action Leading to Launcher Innovation in Stage Toss-back Operations'') is a reusable VTVL Prototype, demonstrator propelled by a small 40 kN Japanese LOX-LH2 rocket engine. It is being developed jointly by the CNES, French (CNES), German Aerospace Center, German (DLR) and JAXA, Japanese (JAXA) national space agencies. The goals for CALLISTO are to mature and demonstrate the technologies which are necessary to build and operate a Reusable launch system, reusable launch vehicle, but also to better assess the operational cost of such a vehicle. The first flight was originally planned to occur in late 2020; it has since been postponed to 2025 and later to 2026. Following the programme's conclusion, the experiences and technologies gained through CALLISTO will be harnessed to benefit other ongoing and future space programmes, such as the development of the European reusable launcher Ariane Next.
