California Baptist Lancers Women's Basketball
The California Baptist Lancers women's basketball team is a basketball team that represents California Baptist University in Riverside, California, United States. The California Baptist Lancers compete as members of the Division I Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They are currently led by head coach Jarrod Olson and play at the Fowler Events Center. In the 2020–21 season, the Lancers won the WAC regular season championship with a perfect 14–0 record. Despite being ineligible for the NCAA tournament due to being in the third year of a four-year transition from Division II to Division I, they were allowed by the WAC to compete in the conference tournament. They won the semifinal and final matchups against New Mexico State and Grand Canyon, respectively, by 43 combined points. 2023 Women's Basketball Invitational
The 2023 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) is a single-elimination tournament consisting of eight NCAA Division I teams not selected to participate in the 2023 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament or 2023 Women's National Invitation Tournament. The 2023 field was announced on March 13. The 2023 edition of the tournament was played on the campus of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky at the Clive M. Beck Center. This was the third year in a row the tournament consisted of an eight-team field played over four days, with a winners and consolation bracket, guaranteeing three games for all teams. There was no winning percentage requirement to compete in the tournament. Cal Baptist won the tournament in their first-ever appearance. Women's Basketball Invitational
The Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) is a women's college basketball tournament created in 2009 by Sport Tours. The inaugural tournament occurred at the conclusion of the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. Selections for the WBI are announced on Selection Monday. Prior to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic the field for the WBI consisted of a 16-team, single elimination divided into two regions with 8 seeded teams in each. The current format consists of 8 teams, all of which are guraranteed 3 games. Teams are picked based on NET, record, conference standings, end of year performance, and quality wins and losses, after the NCAA, WBIT, and WNIT fields are filled. Shawnee State Bears
The Shawnee State Bears are the athletic teams that represent Shawnee State University, located in Portsmouth, Ohio, in intercollegiate sports. They are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the River States Conference (RSC). The Bears joined the RSC in 2023 after 13 years in the Mid-South Conference (MSC). The 2011 NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament was the tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of women's college basketball among its Division I members in the United States and Canada for the 2010–11 basketball season. In a rematch of the 2010 final, Azusa Pacific defeated two-time defending champions Union (TN) in the championship game, 65–59, to claim the Cougars' first NAIA national title. The tournament was played at the Oman Arena in Jackson, Tennessee. This was the last of twenty-two consecutive tournaments played in Jackson. The NAIA women's basketball tournament has been held annually by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics since 1981 to determine the national champion of women's college basketball among its members in the United States and Canada. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the Western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah and Washington (state), Washington.
