California's 21st congressional district (or CA-21) is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. It is located in the San Joaquin Valley and includes parts of Fresno County and Tulare County. Cities in the district include the majority of Fresno, the north side of Visalia, and all of Sanger, Selma, Kingsburg, Parlier, Reedley, Orange Cove, Dinuba, Orosi, Cutler, Farmersville, Woodlake and Exeter. The district is currently represented by Democrat Jim Costa. Demographics According to thAPM Research Lab's Voter Profile Tools(featuring the U.S. Census Bureau's 2019 American Community Survey), the district contained about 377,000 potential voters (citizens, age 18+). Of these, 63% are Latino, while 26% are White. Immigrants make up 16% of the district's potential voters. Orosi, California
Orosi (from ''Oro'', Spanish for "Gold") is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tulare County, California, United States. The population was 8,770 at the 2010 census, up from 7,318 at the 2000 census. History The community was founded in 1888 by Daniel R. Shafer. It was named "oro," or gold, for the golden poppies covering the nearby fields. A post office was established in 1892. 2010 California Attorney General Election
The 2010 California Attorney General election was held on November 2, 2010, to choose the Attorney General of California. The primary election was held on June 8, 2010. Incumbent Attorney General Jerry Brown, a Democrat, was elected Governor of California. The two major candidates were district attorneys from Los Angeles County and San Francisco, Republican Steve Cooley and Democrat Kamala Harris respectively. Exeter, California
Exeter is a city in Tulare County, California, United States. It is situated in the San Joaquin Valley near the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The population was 10,334 at the 2010 census. Exeter is located on State Highway 65, south of Highway 198 and east of Highway 99. History Before the arrival of European settlers, Yokuts settled around an area in an oak forest two miles north of Exeter. The current town site was a plain that possessed elk, antelope, frogs, and deer. Rocky Hill, to the east of the city, offered shelter to native tribes when the plain flooded.
