Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners Women's Basketball
The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners women's basketball represents California State University, Bakersfield in Bakersfield, California, United States. They compete in the Big West Conference. History Cal State Bakersfield began play in 2000. As of the end of the 2015–16 season, the Roadrunners have an all-time record of 317–171. They were a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association from 2000 to 2006 before joining the WAC in 2013. They have never made the NCAA Division I Tournament, only making appearances in the Division II Tournament (as of 2017) in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. The Roadrunners played in the Women's Basketball Invitational in 2010 and 2011, finishing runner up in 2011. They made the WNIT in 2014 and 2015. Big West Conference
The Big West Conference (BWC) is an American collegiate athletic conference whose member institutions participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The conference was originally formed on July 1, 1969, as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), and in 1988 was renamed the Big West Conference. The conference stopped sponsoring college football after the 2000 season. Among the conference's 11 member institutions, 10 are located in California (with 9 located in Southern California alone) and one is located in Hawaii. All of the schools are public universities, with the California schools evenly split between the California State University and the University of California systems. The 2015–16 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners women's basketball team represented California State University, Bakersfield during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Roadrunners, led by fifth year head coach Greg McCall, play their home games at the Icardo Center and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 12–19, 8–6 in WAC play to finish in a 3 tie for third place. They advanced to the semifinals of the WAC women's tournament where they lost to Texas–Rio Grande Valley. The 2013–14 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners women's basketball team represented California State University, Bakersfield during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Chico State Wildcats (also CSU Chico Wildcats and Cal State Chico Wildcats) are the athletic teams that represent California State University, Chico, located in Chico, California, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Grand Canyon Antelopes women's basketball team represents Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. They are a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). History GCU began play in 1988, beginning as an NAIA team in District VII. They began play in NCAA Division II in 1991. They joined the Pacific West Conference in 1992 after two years in the Continental Divide Conference. They joined the California Collegiate Athletic Association in 1994, playing in the conference until 2004. After two independent seasons, they joined the Pacific West Conference in 2006. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits women's basketball team is part of the athletic program at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota.
