Caity Gyorgy
Caity Gyorgy is a Canadian jazz singer from Calgary, Alberta. She received the Juno Award for Juno Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year, Vocal Jazz Album of the Year in Juno Awards of 2022, 2022 for her EP, ''Now Pronouncing: Caity Gyorgy,'' in Juno Awards of 2023, 2023 for her debut LP, ''Featuring,'' and in 2025 for her LP, ''Hello! How are you?.'' Gyorgy was born in Calgary, Calgary, Alberta. Her paternal grandfather's family had come over in the 1930s from Hungary. In 2022, Gyorgy received her Masters of Music in jazz performance from McGill University under the tutelage of Christine Jensen (musician), Christine Jensen. She is a graduate of the music program at Humber College and received her Masters of Music in jazz performance at McGill University. Jocelyn Gould
Jocelyn Gould is a Canadian jazz guitarist. Her album, ''Elegant Traveler'' was awarded the 2021 Juno Award for Jazz Album of the Year - Solo. She is also the 1st place winner of the 2018 Wilson Centre International Jazz Guitar competition. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, and later received her Master's of Music at Michigan State University where she studied with Randy Napoleon. Gould has performed alongside many notable musicians including Freddy Cole, Jodi Proznick, Laila Biali, Allison Au, and Will Bonness. Gould was a faculty member and Head of the Guitar Department at Humber Polytechnic in Toronto. Martina DaSilva is a jazz vocalist, composer, and arranger. In addition to being a leading member of the band '' The Ladybugs'', DaSilva has worked with Jon Batiste, Postmodern Jukebox, Gunhild Carling and Bria Skonberg. Early life Raised in New York City, DaSilva was born to a Brazilian father and American mother. She speaks fluent Portuguese. As a child, she performed in local musical theatre productions and eventually studied both classical music and jazz at Fiorello H. Ben Edward Benack III, also known as Benny Benack III, (born November 23, 1990) is an American jazz trumpeter, vocalist and composer. Early life and education Benny Benack III was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was introduced to the trumpet by his parents at the age of nine after studying piano initially from age five. Benack was raised in the township of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania and attended Upper St. Clair High School. Scott Bradlee (born September 19, 1981) is an American musician, pianist, and arranger. He is best known for his viral videos on YouTube, including his work under the moniker Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) — an ever-evolving, revolving collective of performers playing popular music in period styles. Biography Bradlee grew up in the Pattenburg section of Union Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey where he fell in love with jazz at the age of 12 after hearing George Gershwin's ''Rhapsody in Blue'' for the first time. He attended North Hunterdon High School and later the University of Hartford. Laila Biali (born 3 October 1980) is a Canadian jazz singer and pianist. She has been nominated for and won a Juno Award and has worked with Chris Botti and Sting. Career Born in Vancouver, Biali began playing piano at a young age. She studied classical piano for many years. At the Royal Conservatory of Music she was attracted to jazz, and when she was nineteen she entered Humber College in Toronto. Four years later she released the album ''Introducing the Laila Biali Trio''. She moved to New York City and found work as a pianist and vocalist for other musicians. While touring with Paula Cole, she met drummer Ben Wittman, and she and Wittman later married. In 2009 she sang background vocals for Sting's DVD '' A Winter's Night: Live from Durham Cathedral''.
