CS Universitatea Cluj-Napoca is a professional women's basketball team from Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The club plays in the Liga Națională (women's basketball), Liga Națională. History CS Universitatea Cluj-Napoca is the oldest and the most successful Liga Națională (women's basketball), Liga Națională team. Founded in 1947, in Cluj-Napoca, the club won not less than 14 Romanian Leagues, between 1953 and 1993. In the 80's they won the league in almost every year except 1980 and 1983 when the league was won by 2 teams from Bucharest, Politehnica and Voința. After 13 years of domination U Cluj entered in a regress period and have not won any trophy from 1993, but still remain the team with the most Leagues won in Romanian women's basketball. The Liga Națională, formerly known as Divizia A, is the women's top-tier professional basketball league of Romania. Established in 1950, it is currently contested by eight teams. Polyvalent Hall (Cluj-Napoca)
The BTarena is a multi-purpose indoor arena that is located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The arena was previously called the Polyvalent Hall but was renamed on 17 October 2017 when the facility entered into a new arena-naming rights agreement with Banca Transilvania. The venue holds 10,000 people in its largest configuration. The building is located next to the Cluj Arena. History The arena opened on 21 October 2014. The arena hosted a concert, on 31 October 2014, by English musician James Blunt, who sang from his album Moon Landing (album), Moon Landing. The concert had an attendance of upwards of 6,000. Horia Demian Sports Hall
Horia Demian Sports Hall (), part of the city's Splaiul Independenţei sports complex, is a multi-use arena in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It is used as the home ground of both the men's and women's handball and basketball teams of CS Universitatea Cluj-Napoca. It holds 2,525 seats. The arena is named in honour of Horia Demian, a local basketball player. It hosted the 2006 MTV Romania Music Awards. Dragan Petričević ( sr-cyr, Драган Петричевић; born 31 January 1969) is a Bosnian-Romanian professional basketball coach. He currently serves as a head coach for SCM Timișoara of the Liga Națională.
