CSA Women's T20 Challenge
The CSA Women's T20 Challenge, previously known as the CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition, is a women's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition organised by Cricket South Africa. The tournament began in the 2012–13 season, and currently sees sixteen teams competing. Western Province are the most successful side in the history of the competition, with seven title wins. Central Gauteng are the current holders, winning the 2022–23 tournament. History The tournament began in the 2012–13 season, running alongside the CSA Women's Provincial League. Sixteen teams competed in four groups, with the group winners progressing to the knockout rounds. Western Province won the competition, beating Gauteng in the final. CSA T20 Challenge
The CSA T20 Challenge is a domestic Twenty20 Cricket competition in South Africa, first contested in the 2003–04 season. It was previously known as the Standard Bank Pro20 Series until the 2010–11 season, the MiWay T20 Challenge for the 2011–12 season and most recently as the RamSlam T20 Challenge. The current champions are the Imperial Lions, whilst the Titans have been the most successful with 6 title wins. The tournament has been contested since its inception by the six franchise teams but for the 2007–08 season, Zimbabwe took part as a seventh side. In April 2019, Cricket South Africa announced that the 2018–19 tournament would be the final edition of the T20 Challenge, due to austerity measures and a restructure of domestic cricket in the country. 2016–17 CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition
The 2016–17 CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition was the 5th edition of South Africa's provincial Twenty20 cricket tournament. It ran from October 2016 to March 2017, with 16 provincial teams taking part. Western Province won the tournament, claiming their fourth T20 title and third in three seasons. Competition format The 16 teams were divided into three divisions: a top division named "Top 6", and two lower divisions, Pools A and B. Teams played each other team in their group once in a round-robin format, with matches played using a Twenty20 format. The winner of the Top 6 group was crowned Champions. The tournament ran concurrently with the 2016–17 CSA Women's Provincial League, with matches played either the day before or day after the corresponding encounter between two teams in the one-day tournament. The South Western Districts women's cricket team, also known as the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers, is the women's representative cricket team for part of the South African province of Western Cape. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge. History South Western Districts Women joined the South African domestic system ahead of the 2005–06 season, playing in the Women's Provincial League, in which they finished 6th in their group of 7 with one win from their twelve matches. The Northerns women's cricket team, also known as Fidelity Titans and previously known as Northern Transvaal women's cricket team, is the women's representative cricket team for the South African region of Tshwane. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup, which they have won three times, and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge. History The side first appeared in the Simon Trophy, as Northern Transvaal, in the 1951–52 season and played in the tournament until 1959–60. As Northerns, they next competed in the Inter-Provincial Tournament in 1995–96, and have competed in the tournament ever since. The Northern Cape women's cricket team, previously known as Griqualand West women's cricket team, is the women's representative cricket team for the South African province of Northern Cape. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge. History The side first competed in the South African domestic system in 1951–52, playing in the Simon Trophy as Griqualand West. They competed in that tournament for two seasons, before not playing until they joined the Caltrate Inter-Provincial Tournament in 1997–98. They have competed in the tournament ever since, but have never made it to the knockout stages. In 2015, the side was renamed Northern Cape, bringing the name into line with the name of the province. The KwaZulu-Natal Coastal women's cricket team, also known as Hollywoodbets Dolphins and previously known as Natal women's cricket team and KwaZulu-Natal women's cricket team, is the women's representative cricket team for part of the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, based primarily in Durban. The Kei women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team based in the South African city of Mthatha. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge. History Kei Women joined the South African domestic system in the 2010–11 season, playing in the Women's Provincial League, in which they lost all ten of their matches in the West/East Group. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge.
