CSA Women's One-Day Cup
The CSA Women's One-Day Cup, previously known as the CSA Women's Provincial Programme, is a women's domestic one-day cricket competition organised by Cricket South Africa. The competition currently sees sixteen provincial teams competing in 50-over matches, and has existed, under various names, since the 1995–96 season. The most successful side in the history of the competition, and current holders, are Western Province, with nine recorded title wins. History The tournament began in the 1995–96 as the Women's Inter-Provincial Tournament, with four teams competing: Natal, Northerns, Transvaal and Western Province. The winner is unknown. This was the first women's domestic competition in South Africa since the Simon Trophy ended in 1986–87. The results of the following season's tournament are also unknown. KwaZulu-Natal Coastal Women's Cricket Team
The KwaZulu-Natal Coastal women's cricket team, also known as Hollywoodbets Dolphins and previously known as Natal women's cricket team and KwaZulu-Natal women's cricket team, is the women's representative cricket team for part of the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, based primarily in Durban. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge. They won the one-day competition in the 2009–10 season. History As Natal Women, the side first competed in the Simon Trophy in 1952–53, and played in the tournament until 1971–72. They joined the Inter-Provincial Tournament for its inaugural season in 1995–96, and became known as KwaZulu-Natal in 1997–98. 2016–17 CSA Women's Provincial League
The 2016–17 CSA Women's Provincial League was the 22nd edition of South Africa's provincial one-day cricket tournament. It ran from October 2016 to April 2017, with 16 provincial teams taking part. North West beat Gauteng in the final to win their first one-day title. Competition format The 16 teams were divided into three divisions: a top division named "Top 6", and two lower divisions, Pools A and B. Teams played each other team in their group once in a round-robin format, with matches played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. All six teams in the Top 6 group progressed to a further round of groups, joined by the best-placed team across Pool A and B. CSA One-Day Cup
The CSA One-Day Cup (formerly known as the Standard Bank Cup, the MTN Domestic Championship, and the Momentum One-Day Cup) is the premier domestic one-day cricket competition of South Africa, its matches having List A status. Matches are usually played partly under lights as day-night matches and occasionally get larger crowds than the Test matches. History The tournament has been played since the 1982–83 season when five teams competed in the ''Benson and Hedges Series''. The tournament gradually expanded, with eleven teams taking part from 1994–95 onwards, as more and more teams were promoted from the B groups of South African cricket. Two seasons later, it was renamed the ''Standard Bank League'', and then the ''Standard Bank Cup'', but the same teams competed, until Namibia were admitted in 2002–03. 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup
The 2023 Women's T20 World Cup was the eighth edition of Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It was held in South Africa between 10 February and 26 February 2023. The final took place at Cape Town. Australia won their sixth and third consecutive title after beating the hosts South Africa in the final by 19 runs. Teams and qualification In December 2020 the ICC confirmed the qualification process for the tournament. South Africa automatically qualified for the tournament as the hosts. They were joined by the seven highest ranked teams in the ICC Women's T20I Rankings, as of 30 November 2021, who competed at the 2020 Women's T20 World Cup in Australia. The remaining two teams were Ireland and Bangladesh, the finalists of the qualifying tournament. 2020–21 CSA Women's Provincial Programme
The 2020–21 CSA Women's Provincial Programme was the 26th edition of South Africa's provincial one-day cricket tournament. The tournament was initially scheduled to begin in January 2021, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the format was changed. The tournament began in February 2021 and ran until April 2021, with teams competing in four groups, each located in a different city under COVID-19 protocols. Due to this, there was no overall winner. Competition format The 16 teams were divided into two tiers of two groups apiece. The top tier consisted of six teams, divided into Pool A and Pool B. Each team played each other team twice, therefore playing four matches overall. The second tier consisted of ten teams, divided into Pool C and Pool D. The tournament was curtailed by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, with North West winning their third one-day title based on an adjusted points system. Teams in Pools A and B played each other team in their group once in a round-robin format, whilst teams in the Top 6 league played each other team in their group twice. Kei Women's Cricket Team
The Kei women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team based in the South African city of Mthatha. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge. History Kei Women joined the South African domestic system in the 2010–11 season, playing in the Women's Provincial League, in which they lost all ten of their matches in the West/East Group. Kei have competed in every season of the one-day competition since, but have only ever won one match: in 2017, they beat KwaZulu-Natal Inland by two wickets, helped by Kei bowler Namhla Njani taking 7/24. The South Western Districts women's cricket team, also known as the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers, is the women's representative cricket team for part of the South African province of Western Cape. They compete in the CSA Women's One-Day Cup and the CSA Women's T20 Challenge. History South Western Districts Women joined the South African domestic system ahead of the 2005–06 season, playing in the Women's Provincial League, in which they finished 6th in their group of 7 with one win from their twelve matches. They have competed in the tournament ever since, but have never reached the knockout stages. In the 2008–09 season, they won the B Section Group, but lost the promotion/relegation play-off to Eastern Province.
