Cosi
COSI (), officially the Center of Science and Industry, is a science museum and research center in Columbus, Ohio. COSI was opened to the public on 29 March 1964 and remained there for 35 years. In 1999, COSI was moved to a facility, designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki along a bend in the Scioto River in the Franklinton neighborhood. COSI features more than 300 interactive exhibits throughout themed exhibition areas. Until the COVID-19 pandemic, COSI operated the largest outreach education program of any science museum in the United States. Anchored by COSI on Wheels – a whole-school outreach program traveling throughout Ohio and the surrounding Midwest – as well as local COSI on Wheels Workshops, Camp COSI on Wheels, and Interactive Videoconference programs reaching learners each year outside of the museum at their peak. Dorrian Green
Dorrian Green is a park by the Franklinton (Columbus, Ohio), Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The park is part of the Scioto Mile network of parks and trails around Downtown Columbus (Ohio), downtown Columbus. Dorrian Green neighbors COSI, the city's science and children's museum. The park has numerous gardens: sensory, reading, butterfly and pollinator, and prairie. There is a plaza with an interactive fountain, flanked by two pavilions and flowering cherry tree groves. The park's northwest and southwest corners have salvaged limestone structures salvaged from the Central High School (Columbus, Ohio), Central High School building that was repurposed and expanded into COSI. Laminar flow () is the property of fluid particles in fluid dynamics to follow smooth paths in layers, with each layer moving smoothly past the adjacent layers with little or no mixing. A plasma ball, plasma globe, or plasma lamp is a clear glass container filled with noble gases, usually a mixture of neon, krypton, and xenon, that has a high-voltage electrode in the center of the container. A black hole is a massive, compact astronomical object so dense that its gravity prevents anything from escaping, even light. Mercury-Atlas 6 (MA-6) was the first crewed American orbital spaceflight, which took place on February 20, 1962. John Glenn
John Herschel Glenn Jr. (July 18, 1921 – December 8, 2016) was an American Marine Corps aviator, astronaut, businessman, and politician. He was the third American in space and the first to orbit the Earth, circling it three times in 1962.
