Telemedia
Telemedia was a Canadian media company, which had holdings in radio, television and magazine publishing. The company was launched in 1968 by Philippe de Gaspé Beaubien, when he purchased CKAC in Montreal from Power Corporation of Canada. CKAC remained the company's radio flagship for its entire existence. Telemedia was held privately until it became publicly traded in the late 1980s. Telemedia's magazine assets, including ''Canadian Living'', ''Harrowsmith (magazine), Harrowsmith'', ''Homemakers (magazine), Homemakers'' and the Canadian editions of ''TV Guide (Canada), TV Guide'' and ''Elle (magazine), Elle'', were sold to Transcontinental Media in 2000. James Cooper (Ontario Politician)
James Maxwell Cooper (June 17, 1900 – November 29, 1979) was a Canadian politician, who represented the electoral district of Sudbury in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1937 to 1943. He was a member of the Ontario Liberal Party. He was born in Sudbury. While in the Legislature, he was one of six Northern Ontario MPPs who absented themselves from a vote to censure the federal government for "not prosecuting the war with sufficient diligence".C.M.
