Chi (letter)
Chi ( , also ; uppercase Χ, lowercase χ; ) is the twenty-second letter of the Greek alphabet. Greek Pronunciation Ancient Greek Its value in Ancient Greek was an aspirated voiceless velar plosive, velar stop (in the Western Greek alphabet: /ks/). Koine Greek In Koine Greek and later dialects it became a Fricative consonant, fricative (/) along with Theta (letter), Θ and Phi (letter), Φ. Modern Greek In Modern Greek, it has two distinct pronunciations: In front of close vowel, high or front vowels ( or ) it is pronounced as a voiceless palatal fricative , as in Standard German phonology#Ich-Laut and ach-Laut, German ''ich'' or like English phonology#Consonants, some pronunciations of "h" in English words like ''hew'' and ''human''. In front of open vowel, low or back vowels (, or ) and consonants, it is pronounced as a voiceless velar fricative (), as in German ''ach'' or Spanish phonology#Consonants, Spanish ''j''. This distinction corresponds to the ich-Laut and ach- ...

Electronegativity
Electronegativity, symbolized as , is the tendency for an atom of a given chemical element to attract shared electrons (or electron density) when forming a chemical bond. An atom's electronegativity is affected by both its atomic number and the distance at which its valence electrons reside from the charged nucleus. The higher the associated electronegativity, the more an atom or a substituent group attracts electrons. Electronegativity serves as a simple way to quantitatively estimate the bond energy, and the sign and magnitude of a bond's chemical polarity, which characterizes a bond along the continuous scale from covalent to ionic bonding. The loosely defined term electropositivity is the opposite of electronegativity: it characterizes an element's tendency to donate valence electrons. On the most basic level, electronegativity is determined by factors like the nuclear charge (the more protons an atom has, the more "pull" it will have on electrons) and the number and lo ...

Chi Distribution
In probability theory and statistics, the chi distribution is a continuous probability distribution over the non-negative real line. It is the distribution of the positive square root of a sum of squared independent Gaussian random variables. Equivalently, it is the distribution of the Euclidean distance between a multivariate Gaussian random variable and the origin. The chi distribution describes the positive square roots of a variable obeying a chi-squared distribution. If Z_1, \ldots, Z_k are k independent, normally distributed random variables with mean 0 and standard deviation 1, then the statistic :Y = \sqrt is distributed according to the chi distribution. The chi distribution has one positive integer parameter k, which specifies the degrees of freedom (i.e. the number of random variables Z_i). The most familiar examples are the Rayleigh distribution (chi distribution with two degrees of freedom) and the Maxwell–Boltzmann distribution of the molecular speeds i ...

Chingford Railway Station
Chingford railway station is the terminus of the Chingford branch of the Lea Valley Lines, located in Chingford in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. It is one of three northern termini of London Overground's Weaver line, down the line from London Liverpool Street. The station is in Travelcard Zone 5, and is situated close to Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge. Its three-letter station code is CHI. History The Eastern Counties Railway had begun its venture into a main line railway that would head north to compete with the Great Northern. Limited funds and incessant squabbling had slowed its progress. After the merger with several other lines, the ECR became part of the Great Eastern Railway. The GER planned a network of lines to serve countryside around London by the Great Eastern Railway (Metropolitan Station and Railways) Act 1864 ( 27 & 28 Vict. c. cccxiii). It also planned a line to High Beach, to serve Epping Forest, which reached a terminus in Bull Lan ...

Chi (kana)
ち, in hiragana, or チ in katakana, is one of the Japanese kana, which each represent one mora. Both are phonemically , reflected in the Nihon-shiki and Kunrei-shiki romanization ti, although, for phonological reasons, the actual pronunciation is , which is reflected in the Hepburn romanization chi. The kanji for one thousand (千, ''sen''), appears similar to チ, and at one time they were related, but today チ is used as phonetic, while the kanji carries an entirely unrelated meaning. Many onomatopoeic words beginning with ち pertain to things that are small or quick.Hiroko Fukuda, ''Jazz Up Your Japanese with Onomatopoeia: For All Levels'', trans. Tom Gally. New York: Kodansha International (2003): 19 - 20, Introduction, Words Beginning with ち Chi, Indicating Smallness or Quickness. The dakuten forms ぢ, ヂ, are uncommon.
